Transcript of ITF Teakwon-Do

Where it came from
ITF Taekwon-Do was created in Korea during the Japanese occupation. General Choi Hong Hi created taekwon-do when he was in prison. Then taught it to some of his other cellmates. The North Korean army told him if he taught their army the new style then they would set him free.
The belts meanings

white means innocence

yellow means earth

green means growth

blue means heaven

red means danger
. black means the opposite of white
Color belt patterns and belt
First is Chon-Ji for yellow stripe. Second is Dan-Gun for yellow belt. Third is Do-San for green stripe. Fourth is Won-Hyo is for green belt. Fifth is Yul-Gok for blue stripe. Sixth is Joong-Gun for blue belt. Seventh is Toi-Gye for red stripe. Eighth is Hwa-Rang for red belt. Last is Choong-Moo for first degree black stripe.

The act of defending one's person when physically attacked, as by countering blows or overcoming an assailant.(www.dictionary.com) Taekwon-Do use is various hand and foot techinques to defend one's self and others.
condiditioning
In Taekwon-Do we use condiditioning to train. Also we get kicked and punched so when we go to tornaments we are used to getting hit. The teenage boys do knuckle pushups on concrete.
My favorite things
My favorite things in Taekwon-Do are sparring were I can fight the older kids with out hurting each other. Also team pattern were you can do moves with waves or together. Last is bag drills this is were I can punch things to let out my anger or sadness.

The belt system and meanings
My goal is to be a 4th degree
before I'm 30.
To test for second degree you need to know Kwang-Gae, Po-Eun, and Ge-Baek. For third you need to know Eui-Am, Choong-Jang, and Juche. For fourth you needd to know Sam-il, Yoo-Sin, and Choi-Yong. For fifth you need to know Yon-Gae, Ul-Ji, and Moon-Moo. For sixth you need to know So-San and Se-Jong. For seventh you need to know Tong-il. Eighth and ninth degree are promotions.
