What is bullying
Bullying is repeated unwanted aggressive behavior. It includes things such as threats, rumors, and physical and mental attacking.
How common is bullying
As of 2010 there are 2.7 million students being bullied and 2.1 million bullies. Over half of students report witnessing bullying at school.
what are the effects of bullying
People who are bullied may be to afraid to got to school. they may develop shyness and sleeping problems. They typically lose confidence and may become depressed.
What is cyberbullying
Cyberbullying is using electronics to bully someone not face to face.
Examples of cyberbullying
David Knight was oblivious to a website created all about him. For months, there had been a website that made fun of David and his family. They said things along the lines of that he was a pedophile, he's gay and dirty. The website invited others to actively be involved with bashing this boy. Along with the website, people were sending him hateful emails telling him how much they don't like him. Thankfully, David did not physically harm himself like others.

The role of the bystander is to step up and say something although many do nothing. They should report the bullying to an adult.
Technology in cyberbullying
Phones, gaming systems, social media, and email are all used in cyberbullying.
How to stop cyberbullying
Ways to stop it are ignoring it by not responding, telling adults or reporting the person who is bullying you. Also you can ad privacy settings to your account of block the person.
places to go for help
You can go to your friends, family or a trusted adult. They also have support groups for people getting bullied.
Board policy 6414
This policy is a policy that tells what the guidelines are for harassment and bullying. It gives guidelines to follow if someone is found to have been bullying and how you can punish them.
National bullying month
October is national bullying month. Three thing we could do to raise awareness are having a awareness day, doing online surveys about bullying, and starting a no bullying pledge.
