Let's break this shape down... 5 5 9 8 25 square units What is the area of the triangle? 5 x 5 = 25 (1/2) x 4 x 8 = 12 12 square units 5 5 9 8 Take a look at this composite shape We have a square... And a triangle... Now, add the area of the square to the area of the triangle 15 7 15 5 Total Area of Composite Shape = 37 square units Now find the area of this composite shape... Great Job!
