Transcript of Meercats

meercats The Meerkat is a part of the Mongoose family. Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in South Africa. A group of Meerkats is called a "Mob", " Gang," or "Clan." A Meerkat Mob can have between 15 or 50 Meercats and sometimes even more.
A meerkats normal diet would consist of large or small insects. but they also eat lizards, snakes, scorpions, spiders, plants, eggs, small mammals, millipedes, centipedes and rarely small birds. Meercats are also immune to many harmful venoms including that of a scorpion or king cobra.
There are also three subspecies of meerkat
1)Suricata suricatta siricata
2)Suricata suricatta majoriae
3)Suricata suricatta iona Meerkats are very small mammals, they grow no larger skinny rabbit or a farret. The different species of Meerkat also do not get along, the seperate clans of meerkats assume each other as enemys and attack on anothers homes an kill there enemys young to brake down the enemys clan.
