Spine Anatomy
Arthrodesis is the fusion of vertebrae over a joint space ,Arthrodesis immobilizes the joints at the level of the fusion.
A corpectomy is a surgical procedure to remove a vertebral body, usually to decompress the spinal cord.

A cordotomy is a surgical procedure that is used to relieve pain by cutting the nerves of the spinal cord. Cutting selected nerves disables pain-conducting tracts in the spinal cord
Discectomy is the surgical removal of part or all of a vertebral disc that has herniated
A herniated disc is a condition in which the annulus fibrosus (outer portion) of the vertebral disc is torn, enabling the nucleus (inner portion) to herniate or extrude through the fibers.
Lordosis is an increased inward curving of the lumbar spine
Kyphosis is an exaggerated curvature of the upper (thoracic) spine that creates a hunchback appearance.
Minimally invasive surgery is a surgery minimizing surgical incisions to reduce trauma to the body.
