Point of View
The major characters are:
Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudlaire's wealthy parents die when their home catches on fire, and the 3 orphans are left to live with Count Olaf. The 3 have to work together to figure out Count Olaf's treacherous plan and keep the Baudlaire fortune out of the hands of Count Olaf.
The minor characters are:
I would recommend this book to a friend. I would recommend it because it was an interesting story that really made you want to read the next few pages.
The point of view is
third person omniscient
. The author, Lemony Snicket, can tell every character's thoughts.
There are 13 books total in
The Series of Unfortunate Events book series.
The theme of
The Bad Beginning
is that the good guy does not always win. I know this because Count Olaf tortures the Baudlaire orphans, and then escapes at the last second while authorities are trying to capture him.
