Transcript of The Shack
The tone of the novel is am incite for living.
The mood of the novel is sad, angry, unjust, and an incite for a better understanding.
"Trust is the fruit of a relationship in which you know you are loved."
-The Lady Bug. The dots on the back of the lady bug pin represent victims of the Little Lady Killer. The left side has two dots and the right side has three dots.
-Jesus walking on water. It is a literary reference to when Peter walked on the water with Jesus. This applies to Mack especially to push through the basic fears he has: fears of foolish, ridicule, failure, and in the wake of his daughters death.
-The Garden. T o show that we humans are blind in our own place in the Creation.
: This character is displayed as a black women, Mack feels comfort and love from her because she tells him that he should get let out his feelings as it does the soul good.
: This character is seen as a middle Eastern man whose attire presents him as a construction worker. He becomes a closes friend to Mack and helps him understand the meaning of sacrifice and love.
: This character is depicted as an Asian women who assists Mack in reaching enlightenment.
: Mackenzie's youngest daughter age 6. She was kidnapped and later murdered in the shack by the little lady killer.
: A person who is believes to be connected god in the book, she plays a big roll in the book as she is the person who reveals everything that Mack didn't want to know to him.

r: A serial killer who kidnaps young girls and murders them. Also leaves a signature of presence, which is a ladybug stick pin which container the number of children he has kidnapped.

: Detective/investigator who comes to do a investigation about Missy's disappearance.

: Mackenzies two other children who are older the Missy.

Mack the main character takes his kids on a camping trip and two of his kids are in the water and one of them was drowning so he went and he left his youngest daughter Missy alone at their campsite so when he came back she was missing
Then they discover that missy was abducted and murdered by a serial killer known as the " Little Ladykiller"
After some time mack gets a letter that invites him back to the shack where missy died and its from papa or (god) and when he goes his life change for ever

; He is the main character of the novel. Mack was abused as a child by his father which resulted in his having a traumatic life.
Missy: Mackenzie's youngest daughter who was kidnapped and killed by the Lady Killer.
Little Lady Killer: A serial killer who kidnaps and murders young girls under the age of 10, never caught and never found the bodies.
Nan Phillips: Mackenzie's wife
Kate and Josh: Mackenzie's other two children, both older than Missy.
