Combining Sentences It is sometimes a good idea to combine two or more short sentences into one longer sentence. Here is an example. Here are two sentences: The roses are on the table. They are beautiful. Since they means The roses, we can put the two sentences together. We can say that the roses are beautiful and that they are on the table in one sentence. The beautiful roses are on the table. Here is another example. The bighorn sheep stands alone. It is in the mountains. Since it means the bighorn sheep, we can put the two sentences together. The bighorn sheep stands alone in the mountains. Here is one more example. The teacher bends over the desk. He helps a student. Since he means the teacher, we can combine these sentences.
