Gregory Jackson Storyboard Reflection There are many e-learning principles used within my storyboard including:
Multimedia - text and graphics together are better than graphics or text alone. This principle promotes critical thinking by requiring the learner to see the connection between the text and graphics.

Coherence - eliminating unnecessary information from the slides. By keeping the slide simple and to the point learners can focus on the objectives. In some situations learners may have to critically think about the objective.

Contiguity - images should be placed near the corresponding image. This principle allows learners, especially those who are visual learners to connect the image with the word.

Practice - when learners are able to implement what they have learned then learning takes place. The practice exercise implemented allows for critical thinking by providing multiple potential answer. e-Learning Principles used: and how they promote critical thinking Collaboration - Provides an opportunity for individual learning to be improved. The role play activity will allow the learners to critically think about how Spanish phases will be used on the job.

Personalization - Conversation text and narration are used to provided an individualized experience for each learner. By using personalization learners have the opportunity to critically think about what they would like to do and have to mold their learning experience.

Pre-Training - Allows for understanding and knowledge of basic vocabulary and knowledge to ensure proper preparation for challenging concepts. By incorporating pre-training the learners can critically think about the learning objectives and goals for the lesson.

Redundancy - used to eliminate unnecessary repetition of the same concept on the same slides. By incorporating the Redundancy Principle learners will have an open mind to clearly view each concept.

Segmentation - used to provide a step by step process ensuring the learner understands the concept in it entirety. This principle provides the learner with the ability to critically thinking about each step of the process. e-Learning Principle Continued Research based guidelines were applied to my storyboard lesson by the knowledge gained through the reading material. These researched based guideline included:

Incorporating Instructor Feedback
Incorporating Peer Feedback
Researching each concept for full understanding
applying e-learning principles
Including role play activities and assessments to ensure the learner understands each concept.
Including video and audio to ensure visual and auditory learners understand the learning objectives.
Providing an opportunity for the learner to ask necessary questions for reinforcement of the new knowledge.

These guidelines help to enhance the learning experience by providing the learner with an opportunity to personalize their learning experience through visual, audio, and collaborative means. As well, the learners are able to apply their knew knowledge through the use of role play and assessments that provide immediate feedback. Researched Based Guidelines Simulations and games can provide an enhanced e-learning experience. There are certain factors to consider when selecting the simulation or game to incorporate including:

Learner Appropriate

Through the use of a video clip at the end of the storyboard a type of simulation was used to show the learners the final expectations of the learning objectives. Additional hands on simulations and games could be incorporated into the storyboard to further enhance the learning experience. Simulations and Games The storyboard provides a foundation for the educator and learner to ensure the learning objectives and goals are achieved. Through the proper use of e-learning principles, research-based guidelines, simulations, or games an environment conducive of learning can be provided. E-learning principles provide an understand of learner needs in the online learning environment and an opportunity for the education to capitalize on them. The process of reflecting upon the storyboard reenforced an understanding for the concepts needed to create future storyboards that enhance the learning experience for many individuals.
