Into The Wild : Chp. 1-5 / Principles over People
Transcript of Into The Wild : Chp. 1-5 / Principles over People
People Valuing priciples over people... a thought often represented throughout the novel and life. Today in society our outlook on ourselves has changed
tremendously due to companies and businesses
telling us the correct styles and trends we must adopt. Literature in the novel, McCandless tries to find himself
and gains selfconfidence through his journey
reaching ultimate freedom Ultimate Freedom Principles over People Ultimate Freedom and Valuing Principles over People
go hand in hand because morals, values, and beliefs are more important to people than looks, styles, and materialistic objects. "Sometimes I wish i hadn't met you though.
Tramping is too easy with all this money. My
days were much more exciting when I was
penniless and had to forage around for
my next meal." (Krakauer, 33) "McDonald's has a rule that employees have to
wear appropriate footwear at all times. That means
shows and socks. Chris would comply with this, but
as soon as his shift was over, BANG! - the first
thing he'd do is peel those socks off. I mean the
very first thing." (Krakauer, 40) "Kind of like a statement, to let us know
we didn't own him, I guess." "I don't want to know what
time it is. I don't want to know what day it is or where i am. None of that matters." (Krakauer, 7) Realizing you've reached that objective represents
self-confidence and personal worth and value, This
in turn means you have finally grasped true Ultimate Freedom. COOKIES!!!!! How does society view principles and moral values today? What matters more, Principles / People? Is there a certain instance where one is
more important than the other? Do you have any principles or moral values
that you go by or follow.
