No one was responsible before.
Position created in 2011.
Not spatial information management.
Position starts as a basic support for Facilities.
Position has been growing and now is key for company decisions.
Daily needs for all company.
Has not backup support.
Requires high analysis skills.
Government standards must be accomplish.
Frequently changes and new requirements.
Consequences:

Mission:

Meet service level agreement (SLA) to clients including centralized GIS model, database maintenance, tangible deliverables, technology transfer to non-GIS users staff and innovation.

Use technical and administrative skills to ensure the properly use of GIS technology. Be aware of spatial info needs and resources needed to meet them.
Create an area/division to manage properly all the company spatial information and propose and support effectively the operational plans and company goals.

Lead new products development team in the design and implementation of GIS products using latest technology.

New area must develop, design, and manage GIS mapping and information system for EE.

Expertise in managing GIS and CAD systems, extensive knowledge of geomatics, spatial analysis, reference systems and experience in the management of aerial photographs and satellite images.

It is important to have good attitude to 'teamwork', learning and communication skills with the staff, co-workers, stakeholders (users, contractors) in written and verbal mode. Also, must have initiative and proposals for new technologies.
