Dairy Farming History Dairy Farming has been know as a way of life from the beginning of time. When Christopher Columbus arrived to the new land he wrote that the land was filled with grazing cattle. Production Currently Canada has produced over 72.2 million hectolitres of milk by some of 2.3 million dairy cows on 42,000 dairy farms. Products Technology Modern technology relies on robots. Economics Russian milk market once a leading sector in dairy farming. From 2003-2004 production fell from 55 million tonnes to 32 million tonnes. Saudia Arabian Milk Market A country that is located in the middle of the desert. Who would have thought they are the country that had highest milk production in the world. Canada processes its milk 30% into butter,
28% as cheese and 35% as fluid milk and
7% as ice cream
