Transcript of Music Report

I like this genre of music because it is mostly upbeat and it has a fast tempo. I like this song because it is funny. I feel happy when I listen to this song. This song makes me tap my foot to the beat.
From doing this report I learned what Doo Wop music is. I will continue listening to this kind of music now that this report is over.
This song is about Charlie Brown and his mischievous personality. The line from the song that I chose is "who walks in the classroom cool and slow, who calls the English teacher daddy-o." This line shows Charlie Brown's personality and it adds humor to the song.
The song that I chose is "Charlie Brown" by The Coasters. The songs that I didn't choose are "Only You" by the Platters, "At The Hop" by Danny and the Juniors, "Under the Boardwalk" by the Drifters, and "Peanut" by Little Joe Cook and the Thrillers. The genre of all of these songs is Doo Wop.
The Coasters formed in Los Angeles, California in October,1995. This band includes Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Bobby Nunn, Leon Hughes, and Adolph Jacobs.
Doo Wop
By: Luke
Doo Wop music was developed in the 1940's in African American communities in New York, Philidelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, Pittsburg, Cincinnati, Detroit, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles. During the1950's and 60's, Doo Wop was one of the most mainstream styles of music. Some of Doo Wop's characteristics are nonsense syllables, a simple beat and simple lyrics, and little or no instruments.
