Also known as ...
One way they enter the body is through the mouth (orally). The other way is through injection. They are now also put in gels and creams to be rubbed in the skin.
Typically taken in cycles of weeks or months, this is called cycling.
The drug I was assigned is steroids,
which belongs in the anabolic category. Anabolic steroids include the male sex hormones and other agents that behave like these sex hormones. They stimulate the development of male sexual characteristics and development of male sex organs.
Steroids are strong medicines, and they can have side effects, including weakened bones. Because of this, you usually take them for a short amount of time as possible.
All the anabolic steroids that are sold on the “street” are illegally imported from China. They are shipped in a powder form then mixed with baby oil, cooking oil, & peanut oil. They are easy to obtain from sources at the local gym, school and online.

Origin & description
If you are a long-term steroid user, it's important to have your blood sugar (glucose) level checked regularly. The use of high-dose steroids has been associated with the development of glucose intolerance (a precursor to diabetes).
It's estimated that blood glucose increases by 10-20 % in steroid users. In some cases, "steroid diabetes" may develop, but the condition normally disappears when steroids are stopped.
Steroids do have legitimate medical uses. Sometimes doctors prescribe anabolic steroids to help produce with certain kinds of anemia and men who don't produce enough testosterone of their own. But doctors never prescribe anabolic steroids to young, healthy people.
In the United States, anabolic steroids are illegal. If found using them, you'll go to jail (5 years) with a $250,000 fine. The only way they are legal is if a doctor uses it as a medical prescription.
Teenage girls use steroids as a way to improve or change their body shape. The side effects include male pattern baldness, a permanently deepened voice, breast shrinking, and detrimental changes to the menstrual cycle.
Anabolic steroids can be authorized by a doctor in the case of delayed puberty, cancer, or AIDs, but should never be self-prescribed.
Steroid use among teens has seen a slight increased in the last few years. In 2010, 2% of high school seniors admitted to trying steroids. However, 2.1% percent had experimented with them in 2013.
Steroids are serious drugs and drugs are addictive. Discontinuing use often leads to withdrawal and depression, which creates a lack of physical drive or social interaction among users.
