Kennedy had a rough childhood he was never very healthy. He had whooping cough, scarlet fever and measles. His dad always pushed Jack ( he was known by jack in his family) to be the best at whatever he did. He was very lucky child, his father pulled all of their money out of the savings account just before the stock market crash in 1929. Other children did not have servants or summer homes like the Kennedy children did.
Childhood
Kennedy was a Harvard business school grad. He said that the only experience of the great depression he had was reading about it in books. Jack tried to join the army but got shut down until his father stepped in and got him into the navy as a small torpedo boat commander. Johns boat was sunk while receiving injury he swam to shore withe the 10 survivors one of which was not able to swim from injury Kennedy dragged him by his life vest. His leadership earned him a purple heart
life before president
Kennedy was president from January 20, 1961- November 22, 1963. He announced his candidacy for president on January 2, 1960. Jack faced a difficult race against Richard Nixon. Kennedy won by a narrow margin less than 120,000 votes there were over 70 million votes cast becoming the first roman catholic president in the United States.
Road to President
He had many accomplishments in his presidency one of which was putting a man on the moon by 1970. Another was stopping Cuba from launching long range nuclear missiles on the United States. He established the peace corps, which is a government organization that helps other countries that are in need recovering from disasters like in Nepal.
