A Sentence Pattern
A basic sentence is a sentence that is not complex, does not give out too much information, and has a subject and a predicate.
The dog ate the bone.
Ms. Alagna walked to the park.
Ms. Alagna drives a car.
The chef made cookies.
Ms. Alagna likes to play outside.
I played games.
Ms. Alagna likes to run.
Basic sentences are important because we use them in everyday life. Also, it is simple to use and it is not complex. It is also part of our grammar structure that we use everyday.
In conclusion, basic sentences help us in life everyday. Instead of using a very long complicated sentence, you could just use a very simple basic sentence to say what you want to say.

A predicate is what the subject is doing. It is also a verb.
Subject is either noun or a pronoun.

Compound subjects are one step in learning basic sentences. Compound subjects can be found in basic sentences. They are two subjects put together.
