Introduction
Lacrosse is a team sport, the oldest in North America.
The boys/men´s version of the game is a contact sport.
Lacrosse has been played for the most part in Canada and the USA.
History
Lacrosse was originally played by the indigenous people of North America.
The name of ´Lacrosse´comes from the french "la crosse" which means ´the stick´.
Lacrosse was contested for medals in the 1904 and 1908 Olympics
Goal of the game
The objective of the game is to score by shooting the ball into an opponent´s goal.
Defensively, the objective is to keep the opposing team from scoring and to gain the ball.
All this can be done using the Lacrosse stick to catch, carry the ball, pass and check.

Only the goalie may touch the ball with his hands
Body checking is permitted if the opponent has the ball
If the ball goes out of bounds, the other team is awarded possession of the ball.

In Spain, there is a small Lacrosse league composed of 9 teams. Some of them are: UH Gijón, Valencia Eagles, Madrid Lacrosse and Cuenca Lacrosse.
There is a men´s league and a women´s league, but there isn´t a box lacrosse league.
