Its been estimated that close to 1.3 million immigrants come to this country with Green cards, with an additional 1.8 million by other methods every year. crossing that fence.. Coming to America Together united under the same flag Moving to a new country is a very big deal. Visas, Work or Student After arriving off the boats and onto Ellis Island foreigners, looking to become American would then go to the baggage area drop off their luggage, and then make their ways threw the lines to be processed. History Often like the the migrants where put under a health check to go on the the next step in processing. If there were a medical or technical issue immigrants would be detained or quarantined Once all paper work and necessary documents had been filled out the these new Americans then me allowed to leave the island and take the ferry into New York. Close to 25 million Immigrants made their way through Ellis island, many of them finding work in the north but about a third of those traveled westward though the US to find work Step 1: Formulate a plan on what you will be doing once you come to America
