Transcript of Siyao's Storyline
I spent my first summer of College at Microsoft Beijing as a User Experience Design Intern.
Yes, it was a big name. But my discoveries about myself were BIGGER.
Sunshine Library is an NGO providing a “one tablet per student” solution carrying educational apps and resources for rural China students.
I joined as a UI designer and Product Manager in the Summer of 2012.
I designed and created interface for Android tablet educational apps aiming for students in rural China and managed the development process using Agile Software Development method.
WHAT AM I LIKE?
I DISCOVERED MY INTERESTS IN THINKING and LEARNING about user BEHAVIORS and DESIGNING products that people LIKE.
I START TO PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS, TO HOW PEOPLE USE TECHNOLOGY AND TECH PRODUCTS.
I ALSO FOUND DESIGNING UNSATISFYING. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO BUILD WHAT I DESIGN.
SO I BECOME A COMPUTER SCIENCE MAJOR WITH AN MINOR IN ART! AND I LEARN...
I have always been curious
about way too many things.
I "contradict" myself:
logical and creative,
sciency and artsy,
I love photography, DANCING, DESIGN, tech, food and TRAVELING.
Where should I go now?
Last summer internship
Algorithms and Data Structures
User Interface Design
Prezi is an amazing tool for people with the creative mind and with the need to pitch their ideas/projects/talents...
What could have been better:
previews for templates so users don't have to commit to a template before they what it is.
"Add current view" not to the bottom of all frames but to the one immediately after the current one.
A few ideas:
conversion between templates?
Categorize templates for easier selection? Add preview modes?
Let users create templates to share in the community?
I especially appreciate:
The selection of templates and frames.
The design of themes.
The ease to find all the tools I need.
The intuitive and creative interactions: transitions between themes, in-place google image search
IN CONCLUSION: Prezi you are so cool I want to work for you! :)
