By Alpha Trion Transformers Statement of Purpose: The Autobots The Decepticons Planet Cybertron My name is Alpha Trion. I am the archivist of the Hall of Records and one of the Original Thirteen. The following is a brief overview of the history of Cybertron which I have been charged by Primus to record. I therefore submit the great deeds and heroic sacrifices of my friends the Autobots alongside the treacheries and betrayals of our enemies the Decepticons. Jazz A connoisseur of music, Jazz has the ability to disorient opponents with loud sound. One of the few Autobots to survive the Third Great Cybertronian War. Director of Special Operations Bumblebee Often referred to as the "smallest Autobot," Bumblebee often volunteers for missions where his small size is an asset. He also possessed the best eyesight of all the Autobots which made him an ideal scout. Was rebuilt into Goldbug in "The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2." The Eager Young Scout Tough, but impulsive. Frequently calls for battle against Decepticons, and sometimes engages in battle in spite of Optimus Prime's orders. Is also head of security. Prime's Right Hand Bot Ironhide Optimus Prime Leader of the Autobots Once a young robot known as Orion Pax, he was attacked by Megatron in the episode "War Dawn" and later rebuilt, making him into the formidable Optimus Prime. As leader of the Autobots, he has dedicated himself to a life of stopping the Decepticons wherever they attack. He is accompanied by a trailer in vehicle mode, which can become a weapon platform. Killed by Megatron in The Transformers: The Movie, later resurrected by the Quintessons in the two-part episode "The Return of Optimus Prime." Prowl A logical and competent tactician with a fastidious attention to detail. Killed by Scavenger in 2005. Strategy and Law Enforcement Cliffjumper Impulsive and overeager. Optimus Prime frequently reminds him to exercise caution. "Look at Megatron. I'm gonna blast that smile off his faceplate." Sideswipe Brave, powerful warrior, but often uses underhanded tricks to win. Carries a rocket pack that allows him to fly for short periods. Twin brother of Sunstreaker, but nowhere near as cold-blooded. Sunstreaker Obsessed with personal appearance. One of the most effective Autobot fighters, but isn't always a team player. Often retorts with lines like "Hey, that's a new paint job!" He is also the twin brother of Sideswipe. Former Cybertronian Model Hound The Autobots' resident crime-solver. Can create realistic looking holograms to keep opponents off guard. Loves his job as a scout. Chief Detective Grimlock Grimlock is the leader of the Dinobots, a small but powerful strike squad. Grimlock himself is extremely strong and durable but, despite his strength and prowess, Grimlock continually struggles with his pronouns. Me Dinobot Commander Warpath Optimistic and hearty soldier. Punctuates his speech with sound effects and other such onomatopoeias as Wham! and Bang! As his vehicle form is a tank, some say that he suffers from a debilitating form of "Turret's Syndrome" Special Operations Commander Silverbolt Leader of the Aerialbots. Silverbolt has acrophobia, but his sense of duty puts his fear in check. Aerialbot Captain Smokescreen Intelligent and likeable but sometimes overconfident. Can spread magnetic smoke from his tailpipes, which he uses to great effect against Decepticons. I Have a Little Gambling Problem Perceptor Team scientist who prefers studying to fighting. Usually seen at headquarters or on investigative missions. "Back off, man. I'm a scientist." Blaster Talks like a radio DJ. His musical tastes are not shared by most of his fellow Autobots. Houses Autobot cassettes which he employs on various missions. Autobot City Communications Director Metroplex Forms part of Autobot City when in city mode. Accompanied by the car Scamper, the tank Slammer, and the robot Six-Gun. The Autobots' Mobile Headquarters Springer A bot with serious issues. One of the first Autobot Triple Changers. Strong and heroic, with an intense romantic connection to Arcee. "I've got better things to do tonight than die." Ultra Magnus Ultra Magnus is a longtime friend and follower of Optimus Prime who takes over command of the Autobots after the attack on Autobot City in The Transformers: The Movie. He is subsequently destroyed by the Sweeps but rebuilt by the Junkions. After Hot Rod becomes Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus steps down as leader of the Autobots in favor of the chosen one. The Autobots' resident doctor and mechanic. While he is a medic, he does not have a particularly good bedside manner as he frequently throws things like wrenches at his patients if they got hurt for doing something stupid or something they could have avoided. He is also credited for creating the Dinobots. A tragic casualty of The Transformers: The Movie. The "Doc Bot" Ratchet The Autobots' resident inventor and gadgeteer. He often produces devices when needed, though his inventions were notorious for exploding in his face while he was still testing/working on them. Optimistic. Along with Ratchet he created the Dinobots. He was found dead by Arcee in The Transformers: The Movie. If It Goes Boom, It's Probably His Wheeljack More interested in enjoying life than in fighting, Mirage expresses the desire to return home to Cybertron more frequently than other Autobots. Can become invisible to spy on the Decepticons and frequently to ambush them. His fate following the movie is unknown. According to an early script of the movie, he was shot and killed by Megatron, but this scene didn't make the final cut. He's What We Call "Old Money" Mirage The Autobots' morale booster. Has the power to create impenetrable forcefields. Slow in terms of speed, but a team player. Trailbreaker A very skilled shooter who packs some serious firepower and abilities. However, he hates war (and isn't especially courageous) and tends to chatter incessantly. Bluestreak Despite his small stature, Brawn is often described as one of the toughest Autobots. Is considered the strongest of them, second only to Optimus Prime. The Autobot's "Hulk" Brawn Carries powerful magnets in his arms that he can use to manipulate large objects. Somewhat impatient. Found dead along with Wheeljack by Arcee in The Transformers: The Movie Windcharger Skyfire was originally a good friend to Starscream. Skyfire briefly joined the Decepticons before ultimately concluding that his heart was that of an Autobot. Skyfire continued to be a valuable asset to the Autobot cause over the course of the series. The First Autobot Jet Skyfire Cocky hot-dogging flier. The self-proclaimed "Sultan of the Stratosphere." According to Bumblebee, "can't save a guy without doin' a commercial." The Brash Flying Ace Powerglide Hotshot urban socialite who likes his Earth mode more than his original form. Accordingly, can be vain but a competent warrior nonetheless. The Cultured Aristocrat Tracks Brave and professional but pessimistic. On one occasion suffered from delusional paranoia. Red Alert Skilled warrior, but sometimes overconfident. Keeps the rampant paranoia of his friend Red Alert in check. Inferno Intellectual dreamer who believes he is more than a collection of mechanical parts. The Hopeless Romantic Seaspray A tragically scarred character due to an ancient betrayal which robbed him of his purpose. Emotionless, mostly speaks in two-word sentences. Holds a long-standing grudge against the Constructicons. The Last Line of Defense Omega Supreme Old and wise mentor with a wry sense of humor and a penchant for telling stories of his many experiences. Mentor of Hot Rod before becoming Rodimus Prime. The Flinty Old Warrior Kup Arcee is the only female Autobot to appear on a regular basis. Strong, forceful, and a great shot. Arcee Rodimus Prime Brash young adventurer and friend of Kup. Becomes Rodimus Prime at the end of The Transformers: The Movie but reverts to Hot Rod when he relinquishes the Matrix of Leadership back to Optimus Prime upon his return. Autobot Leader Upon Optimus Prime's Death She's a Regular Annie Oakley Starscream Second-in-command, eager to usurp Megatron's rule. His scheming has at times cost the Decepticons decisive advantages. Killed in "The Transformers: The Movie." However, his ghost later appeared in subsequent episodes due to his immortal spark. Treacherous Decepticon Air Commander Megatron Decepticon Tyrant Soundwave is recognizable for his mechanical voice and devout loyalty to Megatron. Houses all of the cassette Decepticons while they are in cassette mode. Acts as Megatron's/Galvatron's third-in-command. Spymaster Extraordinaire Soundwave Thundercracker Has doubts about the Decepticon cause. He is good friends with Skywarp. Fears retribution from Megatron and has a passionate hatred and occasional rivalry with Starscream. Skywarp Not very intelligent but is an outstanding warrior and is considered the sneakiest of the Decepticons. Has a cruel sense of humor. Despite his relative lack of intelligence, he is one of Megatron's most favored soldiers. The Insecticons A subgroup of the Decepticons, the Insecticons are a non-combining team with voracious appetites for wanton destruction. Shrapnel, Bombshell, and Kickback Thrust Young, arrogant, and overconfident upon entering battle but usually the first to panic or flee. Mindwipe A Gothic mystic who uses extrasensory powers to control other Transformers. Sixshot Shows off his status as a "one-robot army" by using his six forms to defeat the Aerialbots. Though loyal to the Decepticon cause, he is potentially more powerful than even Galvatron. Abominus Even more so than the other Decepticon combiners, Abominus is a being of mindless fury. He's not truly a warrior—he's an animal, the destructive rages of the Terrorcons that compose him personified. The only thing that distinguishes him from a wild beast is the enjoyment he derives from his terrible rampages. The Ultimate Horror Bruticus The Combaticons were created when the exiled Starscream stole the personality components of renegade Decepticons and installed them in discarded military hardware. Together they form the powerful but dimwitted giant Bruticus. A terrifying sight on the battlefield, Bruticus is among the strongest of all Transformers. The Ultimate Combaticon Predaking Between his physical prowess, unexpected mental acuity, and animalistic, almost instinct-fast hunting actions, Predaking is one of the most dangerous and intimidating weapons ever added to the Decepticon ranks. As a weapon he is without equal; as a warrior he is without restraint. When Predaking is on your trail, all hope is lost. The Untamed Fury of the Predacons Cyclonus Acts as Galvatron's second-in-command upon the demise of Starscream. Usually calm, rational, and well-spoken, he takes pride in the Decepticons and their cause. First Lieutenant Galvatron After Megatron was left for dead by the other Decepticons (led by Starscream), Unicron gave him a new body and called him Galvatron. Suffers from bouts of irrationality and is often hostile to his subordinates. Mentally Unstable Dictator A barely competent doubter of Galvatron's chaotic leadership. Secretly power-hungry and easily seduced. He leads an army of clones called the Sweeps. Master of the Dreaded Sweeps Scourge An inventive coward known primarily for his defection from the Decepticons and his encounter with the ghost of Starscream. The Sympathetic Decepticon Octane Known as Decepticon City. Somewhat intelligent and easily distracted but tremendously powerful. Built by the Constructicons. The Decepticon Answer to Metroplex Trypticon Not particularly bright but has a penchant for command. Must sometimes replace his head/nosecone after ramming his targets. Ramjet Quiet, brooding, pessimistic and accident prone. He is also friends with Thrust. Dirge Arrogant and self-obsessed, Astrotrain once tried to build his own army to take over the Decepticons. Later set himself up as a god on a primitive, energy-rich planet. The Charletan Transport Module Astrotrain Once tried to form his own power base and challenge Megatron's leadership as part of a failed triumvirate between Blitzwing, Astrotrain, and Starscream. Suffers from a split personality. Blitzwing Destructive brute-force giant formed by the five Stunticons. Menasor is an unpredictable mass of conflicting, chaotic impulses. Extremely powerful, highly mentally unstable, and prone to violent tantrums in which he lashes out at anything in range, Menasor is not a weapon to point and fire, but a raging monster to turn loose on the battlefield and then get as far away as possible. The Stunticon Menace Menasor Devastator is an immensely powerful warrior and in that sense the combination of the Constructicons into a merged being is a huge success. Mentally, on the other hand, he's very much less than the sum of his parts. Devastator's primitive psyche is limited to only the thoughts and actions on which all his components can agree which results in raging bouts of destructive fury. Devastator Reflector is a unique Transformer in that his robot mode consists of three robots, Viewfinder, Spectro, and Spyglass, which merge to form one camera. The three robots almost always act and speak in unison with each other. Let's See What He Can See Reflector Shockwave is the only named Decepticon to remain on Cybertron during Megatron's absence. At one time a notable scientist, his inhumane experiments caused him to fall into disfavor with Cybertronian society. Considered a depraved and emotionless being by many, Shockwave has no compunctions for the unspeakable acts he performs. The Scientist Turned Sadist Shockwave Originally a gladiator turned revolutionary attempting to right the wrongs of the masses, Megatron lost his way becoming a ruthless despot. His power appear unmatched except by Optimus Prime himself. When fully charged, his fusion cannon can kill Transformers with one shot. The First Decepticon Combiner "Till All Are One." Our Home. For years it has been a peaceful world until pride and a lust for power divided us. Now we fight enemies who were once our brothers. One shall stand and one shall fall.
