My Inspiration For Marine Biology
As a young boy, I was constantly on the animal channel watching Steve Irwin the crocodile hunter. He would wrestle with crocs and catch fish with his hand and his austarlian accent always made me chuckle.
Why Marine Biology?
They get to travel to different parts of the world to learn more about the fascinating life under the water. If you love science, underwater creatures, and researching life, then consider a career as a marine biologist. The benefits are never ending in this special field.
What is Marine Biology?
Marine biology is defined as the scientific study of organisms that live in a body of water. This includes all life forms from sharks to plankton, not just fish!
•Many people believe that marine biologists play with whales and dolphins all day, but while some marine biologists study these species, that's not all they do. To pursue a career in marine biology you have to love spending time outdoors by the water, and studying the different habits in the ecosystem.
•Over 1.5 million unique marine species have been discovered, so far. Many more are expected to be discovered!
•Some days marine biology can simply be walking along the ocean shore and collecting sea shells! There is little things that have to be examined in order to get the big idea of topics.
•We could not survive without water! We use it in everything that we do in our daily lives.
•Marine Biologist degrees require 2-3 years of college. However, people with their masters get paid almost 2x higher salaries and get better and more flexible careers.

Sadly, Steve Irwin was killed by a 8 foot wide sting ray. He was killed on September 4, 2006 and his legacy continues inspires me.
