What does your list reveal about the spiritual gifts that God is growing in you? What do spiritual gifts look like? What sorts of things are
spiritual gifts? Can you think of
other ways God
has gifted the church
through the abilities and
affinities of
its members? Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 Read each of the following carefully. Why they are called Gifts? Read I Corinthians 10:31 What are we supposed to do
about our gifts? What happens if we don't use our gifts? What about the Holy Spirit part? So, what's next? There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. Read I Corinthians 12:4-7 We view our gifts
as an important
and valuable part of a whole.
We work together with others rather
than comparing or competing. Read Romans 12:6-8 Employ our gifts
ALWAYS
toward loving ends,
unselfishly seeking God's will. Read I Corinthians 13:1-3 Use those gifts
--with all our enthusiasm
--to the glory of God
--in service to others Well, we're not entirely sure. The only scripture we can find that speaks to it is this.... Read
Matthew 25:14-29 . Seriously? Okay, then. Re-read I Corinthians 12:4-6 All of this comes
from God by way of the Holy Spirit.




It's not static or set in stone.
It's organic and growing. Our feelings and experiences matter to God.



The Holy Spirit's work is taking it
all into account and weaving
it all together. Read Philippians 1:3-6 I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Open the Door We've explored the scriptures!

the REAL adventure! a new adventure! to new friends, new growth in faith, & This story makes it clear.

God really wants us to use
our gifts.
And when we don't?





The whole Body of Christ
loses out. Let's EXPLORE Spiritual Gifts Romans 12:6-8 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Ephesians 4:11-12 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. I Peter 4:9-11 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. I Corinthians
12: 8-11, 28-30 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? What combination of the biblical gifts is most evident in our congregation? For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. --Psalm 139:13-15 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. ...But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.....
“Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
“‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them."

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. We call them
GIFTS because: They are given to us freely by the Holy Spirit. What is the most wonderful gift you ever received?

Why was it so delightful to you?

Have you ever received a gift that made you wonder why the giver gave it to you? They are meant to be used for the Body of Christ,
in other words, given away,
or re-gifted! Think about a time when you felt like you really had a great gift to offer.

Where did it come from?

How did you know it was time to share it?

How did you feel about the experience of passing it on? Gifts, abilities and affinities that God has given individuals to use in concert with other members of the Body of Christ in ministries to share God's love with the world. Read Psalm 139 Well....
