Companies such as L'Oreal, Covergirl, and Dior formulate lead into their lipsticks. Lead exposure has been linked to multiple health concerns such as neurotoxicity: it has been linked to learning, language and behavioral problems. It’ll cause a reduction in fertility in both men and women, hormonal changes and menstrual irregularities.
Aluminum is one of the many metals that interfere with the estrogen in a human body. Aluminum salts have a genotoxic profile. These salts are the active ingredient in antiperspirants. This means that aluminum salts are capable of causing DNA alterations and epigenetic effects.
Baby products such as lotion and ointment are containing para-dioxane, a human carcinogen. These hormones are causing unexplained patterns of breast cancer in African-Americans under 40 years old.
All skin tones enjoyed the homemade recipe for the long-term benefits, but enjoyed the look of the Covergirl product.
My solution
Rather than using the Covergirl product with harsh chemicals, I developed my own that acts very similar. In this formula, I can pronounce each ingredient and I understand its purpose.
Although it seems that this product couldn't possibly hurt the body, it contains carcinogens and nearly lethal chemicals that are proven to increase the risk of breast cancer.
