allé séparer direction. Henri was born in Le Cateau-Camresis, northern France on December, 31, 1869. He lived in a small town, Bohain-en -Vermandois northern France. His Father was a corn merchant, during the time his mother suffered an illness. Henri inherited a business and studied law. He discovered a pleasure in painting at the age of 20. Henri studied art in Paris, he attended Academy Julian and The School of Beautiful Art. He developed slowly, but he earned his name "the king of colour" when he was discovered in the early 1900's. Henri had a first child before he met Amélie. He married Amélie and they had 2 children. They later got divorved and they went seperate directions. Also, Matisse drew and he made scultures relating to his paintings. He discovered his own style of painting and painted Dance I and Music in 1909. His art work captured the mood instead of the realisic characteristics of the world. Fauvism is a type of painting which contains a lot of colours and deep brushstrokes. This style is very bold, brilliant and bright. Matisse lead fauvism with Andre Derain, Maurice de Valmincis and Alberta Marquet. Henri was very creative. He was used to not mixing colours and his art was original. He was one of the first people to paint fauve art pieces. Henri est mort sur trois, Novembre, 1954. Henri died on November, 3, 1954.
