SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Prezi, the most engaging way to share content on video, today announced that its virtual presentation tool, Prezi Video, has surpassed 1 million users in 175 countries, including use by more than 20,000 companies, 100+ of the Fortune 500 and the majority of United States School districts.
Prezi Video allows users to share content in-screen during a Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, GoToMeeting or Slack. The ability to have presence with your content on video, as newscasters or weather people do, allows people to interact with the content, which leads to more engaging communication.
"While we know that hundreds of millions of people participate in video calls, we estimate that only a few percent of them are presenting information using traditional screenshares, and even those disconnect the presenter from their content," said Jim Szafranski, Chief Executive Officer, Prezi. "That is about to change - virtual content on video will quickly become the way work is done."
Prezi Video leads a field of creativity tools that work together with communications tools in these virtual experiences. It was the first-to-market virtual presentation tool launched in November 2019, and has seen strong traction from the business and education communities in both live and recorded video. Prezi Video is frequently used for virtual executive all-hands meetings, team updates, sales and marketing presentations, and a huge range of educational formats. Prezi rolled out a Video-in-Video feature in late 2020 with future plans for gesture control and other interactive features.
"There is a virtual enterprise emerging, and we see a growing need to bring more engagement to the new video audience. We similarly had 1 million users after the first year of our presentation product, which grew to over 100 million users, and we think Prezi Video has similar potential," Szafranski continued.

In the last 12 years, my mission through Prezi and philanthropy has been ending global division and building understanding, and while I am drawn to cause and have started multiple non-profits during my time leading the company, I’ve always made Prezi my priority. When we doubled-down seven years in on a path to building Prezi Video, I knew that I might want to pass the torch once we had the company in the right position and hands.
I am forever grateful to Jim for showing me that there is somebody in this world I would trust to hand my life’s work over to. He will continue to build on the legacy of one the most known brand to ever come out of Hungary, and my co-founders Adam Somlai-Fischer, Peter Halacsy and I couldn’t be happier.”

UNITED NATIONS POPULATION FUND AND PREZI LAUNCH #YOUTHAGAINSTCOVID19 VIDEO CAMPAIGN TO INFORM AND EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE
Educational video series calls on youth leaders to help protect their communities and share informative content through reusable online videos
New York, May 20, 2020 – Prezi, a leading visual communications software company, and UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, have launched a joint COVID-19 awareness campaign to encourage and equip young people to lead the charge against the pandemic. UNFPA and Prezi are teaming up with global youth organisations to encourage young people to take action by staying informed and doing their part to flatten the curve of the infection – and urging their peers to do the same.
The #YouthAgainstCOVID19 video campaign consists of six educational videos containing information about how young people can fight the COVID-19 pandemic anywhere in the world. Produced in multiple languages and in cooperation with various youth organizations, the videos feature young people sharing ideas and guidance on how to better cope with the impacts of the pandemic as well as how COVID-19 might be affecting their sexual, reproductive, and mental health.
“Facts are the antidote to fear in the face of COVID-19, and accurate information can save lives," said Dr. Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of UNFPA. “Equipped with knowledge about what they can do to keep their friends, families and communities safe, young people can be powerful allies in combating this virus. Innovation springs from adversity, and together we are bringing young people tools that can help turn the tide against the pandemic.”
Young people are encouraged to replicate and share the videos using the hashtag #YouthAgainstCOVID19. They are free to adapt the content to their own context and language through the ‘reuse content’ feature in Prezi Video, an interactive platform that allows anyone to create interactive videos in minutes without the need for a design background or editing skills.
“Young people are more accustomed than older generations to connecting remotely with others and using visual tools to make the world a better place,” said Peter Arvai, co-founder and CEO at Prezi. “We are honored to partner with UNFPA to help the world’s youth create videos that help others protect themselves and their households, support their communities and share their ideas easily and effectively.”
Messages shared in the campaign are representative of young people globally, including the most vulnerable and marginalized. They are being tailored to fit local and personal contexts, and are currently available in more than 20 languages. Young people can then use Prezi Video templates to record themselves sharing key facts related to COVID-19, which can also be adapted in any other language or local dialect.

Survey Finds Attention Spans Aren’t Shrinking--They’re Evolving
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – August 28, 2018 – Attention spans are not shrinking, rather they are evolving to be more selective, according to a new research study from Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences and customers. The 2018 State of Attention Report, which measured the effectiveness of content and presentations and how they resonate with business professionals across demographics, including Millennials, Generation X, and Boomers, found that the key to engaging content is a compelling narrative combined with stimulating visuals and dialogue.
According to the survey, the ability to maintain focus has actually improved over time, despite an ever-growing mountain of available content. This demonstrates that the attention of business professionals can be captured for long periods of time with compelling content that includes great stories and interesting, gripping visuals.
More than two thousand business professionals from the United States of America participated in the study, conducted by Kelton Research. Key findings include:
1. Respondents reported that they have increased attention spans, but have become more selective in the content they choose to consume:

Study of Presentation Media Demonstrates Advantages of ‘Zoomable User Interfaces’ Such as Prezi
Newly Released Harvard Study Measures Subjective Effects of Presentation Software on Persuasion and Engagement
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – July 5, 2017- Researchers today announced the results of a double-blind study at Harvard University on the effectiveness of presentation techniques, finding ‘zoomable user interfaces’ (ZUIs), such as Prezi’s visual presentation platform, to be rated more favorably, on subjective measures, than either slideware or oral-only presentations under the test conditions.
The study, published in the peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE, aimed to advance researchers’ understanding of the psychology of communication. Among the presentation styles tested, the authors concluded that an interactive format and ZUI — a type of graphical user interface that allows users to view information by panning and zooming in a (theoretically) infinite two-dimensional space — led test subjects to rate such presentations as more effective, engaging and persuasive. The researchers used Prezi and PowerPoint software as examples of a ZUI and slideware, respectively, to conduct the study.
“Participants evaluated Prezi [ZUI] presentations as more organized, engaging, persuasive, and effective than both PowerPoint [slideware] and oral presentations,” the researchers wrote in PLOS ONE.
“Because ZUIs are defined by their panning and zooming animations… the most parsimonious explanation for the present results is in terms of ZUIs and slideware in general, not Prezi and PowerPoint in particular,” the researchers noted in the study. However, they added, “We not only conclude that audiences prefer Prezi [ZUIs] over PowerPoint [slideware] presentations, but also conclude that their preference is rooted in an intrinsic attribute of ZUIs: panning and zooming animations.”
Designed and initiated by Harvard researchers to better understand the roles of “message” and “medium” in communication, the study was supported by Prezi under a sponsored research agreement and conducted independently. The lead author of the study was Samuel T. Moulton, a research associate in Harvard’s Department of Psychology and former director of research for the Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching.
Study specifics
The study involved a real-world business scenario in which participants were randomly assigned to create slideware presentations with PowerPoint, ZUI presentations with Prezi, or oral presentations with no visual aid, and then present to another group of study participants.
After viewing presentations in all three formats, participants deemed Prezi’s ZUI presentations the most organized, engaging, persuasive, and effective.
Researchers found the following:
“Compared to slideware’s sequential, linear transitions (and oral presentations’ total lack of visual aids), zooming and panning over a virtual canvas is a more engaging and enjoyable experience for an audience.”
“Because ZUI presentations are more engaging than slideshows, ZUI presentations and presenters are judged more positively than slideshows.”
Results indicate that “presentations influenced participants’ core judgments about a business decision, and suggest that [ZUI presentations such as] Prezi may benefit both behavioral and experiential outcomes.”
“The study moves us forward in advancing our knowledge of the psychology of communication,” said Prezi CEO Peter Arvai. “We believe the results shed light on the many benefits of visual communication provided in ZUI formats such as Prezi. It seems clear that business professionals want to build moving stories that deepen their connection with their audiences in a way that is fun, immersive, and effective.”
Complete research results may be found here: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0178774

Future of Communications
Prezi, the visual presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences and customers, today announced it has acquired Infogram, a leading, web-based data visualization company. Infogram specializes in charts and infographics for customers who need to quickly and effectively convey complex ideas. This is Prezi’s first acquisition and financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Story + Data = The Future of Visual Communications
“Prezi was inspired to unite with Infogram because of our shared mission to help people make better decisions by providing more effective tools for visual communication,” said Peter Arvai, Prezi’s CEO and co-founder. “If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the data that backs it up makes it credible. And without a story, data falls flat in effectiveness.”
“Joining forces with Prezi means our mission to bring beautiful and informative infographics and other data visualization technologies to more users will happen even faster,” said Mikko Järvenpää, Infogram’s CEO. “With Prezi, we will continue our work as a world leader in data visualization to create more powerful, delightful and useful products than ever before.”
Founded in 2012 and based in Latvia, Infogram has exploded in popularity and emerged as an innovator in the area of data visualization and has over 3 million users, who have created over 5 million charts and infographics that have been viewed over 1.5 billion times. Infogram conveniently offers multiple data import options. Users can create a variety of charts, maps, and infographics by simply uploading a file, connecting to various cloud services, or taking advantage of Infogram’s API.
Infogram has been adopted by a wide variety of customers, including media companies, key businesses, and educational institutions. Infogram is also the most successful startup that has originated from Latvia--just as Prezi is the most successful startup that incubated in Hungary and bridged that success to create a global company with offices in San Francisco, Budapest and Mexico City.
What’s Next?
Infogram will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Prezi and will remain in Latvia. Prezi will continue to invest in research and development of Infogram and will create a Data Visualization Center of Excellence in Latvia.

Prezi Unveils Prezi Next: Allows Anyone to Create, Present, and Analyze
The only full-lifecycle presentation tool proven to help presenters connect better with audiences
Prezi, the visual presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, announced today the availability of Prezi Next, its new and most powerful platform yet. Designed with insight and feedback from Prezi’s 85 million users, Prezi Next is the only full-lifecycle presentation platform on the market that allows users to create, present, and analyze their presentations.
Prezi Next was designed for customers in a wide range of industries, including education, nonprofit, business, media, and government. It builds on the storytelling elements of Prezi’s original product by incorporating a more flexible, intuitive editor with customizable designer templates, which help users more easily create visually stunning presentations. Prezi Next scales from the individual user up to large business teams, all in a single powerful platform.
Its interactive format lets presenters move freely between topics and adapt on the fly, without having to flip through slides. Through this approach, called "conversational presenting,” presenters can focus on what interests their audiences most, a method that is proven to be more engaging and effective.
Prezi Next also adds the option of full-lifecycle tools like analytics for everyone -- a feature previously only available to teams -- which allows users to track progress with their audiences all the way through the funnel, and refine their presentations based on real-time data.
“We built Prezi Next from the ground up with insight from our 85 million users, and we’re incredibly proud to see it transforming their presentations from a typical ‘one-way’ dialogue to an interactive conversation that supports immersive storytelling,” said Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder of Prezi. “Prezi Next also sets the foundation for us to adopt, support, and implement emerging and future technologies, such as the augmented reality preview we’re sharing at TED 2017.”
“Since using Prezi Next, we’ve had record sales that we haven’t seen before,” said Jamie Gomez, marketing manager at ViewSat. ViewSat provides a comprehensive range of free-to-air satellite and transmission services for broadcasters of every size across the globe. "Conversational presenting gives us an edge by allowing us to take an educational stance. Now we split the content into different parts and ask prospects what they want to learn about. They appreciate the interactivity, ask questions, and respond much better.”
"There's nothing better than a high-impact presentation to strengthen, promote, or build a brand. With Prezi Next, we have the visual support needed to engage our prospects and keep them engaged," said Abel Antonio Martinez Carrillo, Planning and Business Development, Chupa Chups. Chupa Chups is the popular Spanish brand of confectioneries sold in over 150 countries worldwide.
Prezi Next Features:
Prezi Next is built on the latest HTML5 technologies and includes the following features to help users more easily create, present, and analyze their presentations.

Prezi Business Reinvents Presentations for the Modern Workforce
Industry’s first visual presentation platform combining advanced collaboration, analytics, Slack integration and mobile presenting capabilities
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – June 7, 2016 – Prezi, the visual presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences and customers, today announced the launch of Prezi Business. This new platform combines all the benefits that make Prezi presentations stand out with new business-focused productivity tools such as team and audience collaboration capabilities, engagement analytics, integration with Slack, and remote presenting.
Prezi Business is the company’s response to a rapidly growing need: tools that enable openness and teamwork over hierarchy and silos, as well as the modern customer’s desire for conversations rather than one-way experiences. These trends have impacted the presentation space, creating a long-awaited change that is being driven largely by students moving from the classroom to the workplace.
“Millennials constitute a huge part of our 75 million user base, as they’ve moved into the professional world, they’ve brought their modern expectations and favorite tools with them,” said Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder of Prezi. “We designed Prezi Business for users like them; for those that want a more visual, collaborative, data-driven and — most importantly — conversational way to present.”
It’s Time for the Modern Presentation
Presentations are an essential part of business communications, and there’s plenty of evidence that suggests changing up the old office stack’s way of presenting (one-way dialogue using slides and bullet points) can have a huge impact on overall success. According to the RAIN Group, for example, sales professionals can increase sales by collaborating with prospects instead of talking at them, and ION Interactive recently found that twice as many consumers say that interactive content is more memorable than static.
Prezi Business is a platform that includes all of the visual and conversational benefits of Prezi, enabling organizations to create presentations that bring together multiple stories that can be dynamically delivered based on the audience's interests. New, business-ready features include:
Prezi Surpasses One Billion Views and 60 Million Customers
With World’s Largest Presentation Database, Prezi Announces New Collaboration with Logitech and Expands Executive Team
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Sept. 17, 2015 – Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, today announced it now has more than 60 million users worldwide, that it has the world’s largest public database of presentations--over 190 million public prezis-- and that its community's prezis have been viewed over one billion times.
To help its customers become even more effective presenters, Prezi also announced that it has entered into a new collaboration with Logitech, a leader in designing products that connect people to the digital experiences they care about. Finally, to ensure its continued success, Prezi announced it has hired two new executives--Jim Szafranski, chief operating officer (COO) and Jim Banister, Head of Product.
"Our worldwide community is creating and sharing their prezis in record numbers," said Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder of Prezi. “Visual storytelling is key to the success of our customers, helping them stand out in an increasingly noisy world where bullet points have too often replaced meaning. By teaming up with Logitech, our community of millions of people using Prezi worldwide will be able to create and deliver even more impactful presentations.”
60 Million Customers, 1 Billion Views
One of Prezi’s fastest growing customer segments is business users looking for a more visual, conversational and powerful way to present--to help them land clients, train customers, and inspire audiences. Many teams within organizations such as Staples, Gensler, Lufthansa, Crunch Fitness, and Harris Computer Systems and others have switched from slides to Prezi, citing measurable increases in results. For more information on customers using Prezi, please visit https://prezi.com/customers
“Prezi empowered our sales force to effectively communicate everything we’re trying to do as a company,” said Jeff Wakefield, vice president, sales enablement at Verifone.
Visual storytelling is key to the success of Prezi’s customers. Based on the world’s largest database of over 190 million public prezis, Prezi analyzed the most successful prezis to understand broader trends in presentation design and visual communications. The results confirm that presentations with more visual elements are more popular than text-heavy presentations, with the top prezis using more images, videos and animations than text, by a 6:1 ratio compared to all prezis.

Prezi and Logitech: Making Presenters Better
Prezi also announced a new co-marketing relationship with Logitech, a leading manufacturer of wireless presenters. Over time, the companies plan to work together on joint marketing activities and integrated solutions that will enable people to create and give more engaging and captivating presentations.
”Logitech and Prezi have a shared vision of helping people become better presenters," said Charlotte Johs, global vice president of computer peripherals at Logitech. "Working with Prezi will help us better understand presenters and the technology needed to help them deliver presentations confidently and fearlessly."
Employee Growth, New Executives
Since launching in Hungary in 2009, Prezi now has more than 250 employees worldwide from 27 countries; has moved to larger offices in both San Francisco and Budapest; and has been localized in 9 languages, including English, Hungarian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Korean and Japanese. Additionally, it hired two new executives: Jim Szafranski, Chief Operating Officer and Jim Banister, Head of Product.

Embargoed until February 24, 7am CET
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Feb. 24, 2015 - Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, today launched Prezi for Android, giving the more than one billion Android users worldwide the ability to access their presentations anytime, anywhere.
“Our users have been asking for an Android app for a long time, as they spend more and more time away from their offices.” said Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder of Prezi. “With Prezi for Android, you can have all your presentations in your pocket, so you can pitch and refine your story anytime.”
IDC recently predicted that Android owns approximately 80 percent of the smartphone market. Prezi now enables these users worldwide to practice, pitch, and share their stories, no matter where they are.
Key benefits and features of the Prezi for Android app include:
Cloud Syncing - Always have the most current version of your prezi, no matter which device it was last worked on.
Remote mobile presenting - Invite up to 30 people to a presentation that you can deliver even away from your office.
On-the-go access anytime, from anyplace - Full access to saved prezis, prezis found online and those shared by others.
Offline access to recently used prezis and to other prezis for inspiration - No Internet connection required so you can practice on the way to your presentation using your Android device.
The app received a warm welcome in Australia, where Prezi launched a beta version several months ago that was downloaded far more than anticipated. Dr Naomi Findlay, founder of the International Institute of Home Staging is one of these beta testers.
“Presentations are a key part of my job,” Dr Findlay said. “With smartphone screens growing substantially in size, I believe viewing presentations on the go will become more common. Meld photo bursts with animation and captions for dynamic new ways to tell your stories
Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, today introduced Nutshell; a new visual storytelling app that combines the simplicity of photos, the compelling nature of video, and the fun of animation to create short, shareable cinematic narratives.
The idea for Nutshell came about when the Prezi team discovered that people were using Prezi’s zoom-able presentation canvas for sharing events like birthdays, road trips, and even marriage proposals - since it’s easy to embed photos and videos, add text and graphics, and use motion to connect the dots and tell stories. These prezis inspired the company to create Nutshell, a new way to encapsulate life’s moments into stories and easily share them, all from a mobile device.
To use the app, simply snap three photos in succession and it will animate them into a single movie sequence. It’s also easy to add text and graphics to customize your cinematic vignette. The result is a playful, unconventional twist on traditional photos, which can be shared by email and text message, as well as posted to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
“Nutshell is exactly what its name implies: an epic story condensed into the space of a moment,” said Prezi Cofounder and Principal Artist, Adam Somlai-Fischer. “We incorporated some of the best features of Prezi – which helps people use spatial context to share ideas and visually communicate moments in their life in an equally impactful and memorable way.”
This is the first time Prezi has launched a new product since the global success of its presentation tool. Prezi’s Cofounder and CEO, Peter Arvai, says “Nutshell is part of our mission to help people share their ideas in a more engaging way and we’re very excited to bring yet another completely new medium for visual storytelling to the world.”

Enables Users to Deliver and Watch Live Presentations in Real-Time on Their Mobile Devices
Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, has released a new feature that lets users deliver and watch live presentations in real-time from their mobile devices. The first-of-its-kind app ushers live presenting into the age of mobility, allowing any user to present or follow along from virtually anywhere using their iPhone, iPad, PC, or Mac.
With just a few clicks, presenters on the road can now invite up to 30 people in multiple locations to follow their prezis in real-time. In addition, co-presenters can pass control of the presentation to one another seamlessly across devices with a single click, enabling teams to collaborate globally.
"Our users come from, and travel to, all corners of the world," said Peter Arvai, Prezi CEO and co-founder. "We needed to make Prezi available to them no matter where they go to do business, whether that's in a boardroom, on a beach, or at a coffee shop somewhere."
Jeff Kirschner, founder of cause-driven website Litterati, appreciates the logistical benefits. "Since Litterati assesses the effects of litter around the world, I'm constantly traveling and calling into meetings from the road. Now I can give my presentations on the go, and my team can do the same. I don't need a special facility in some foreign city -- just my phone."
The new release comes on the heels of other big announcements from Prezi, including the news that the company has reached the 50-million-user milestone and that it recently secured $57 million in funding from Spectrum Equity and Accel Partners.
Surpasses 50 Million Users and More Than 160 Million Prezis Created
Prezi, the presentation platform that helps people connect more powerfully with their audiences, announced today that it has received a $57 million investment from Spectrum Equity, a leading growth equity firm, with participation from existing investor, Accel Partners. Spectrum, whose previous investments include prominent subscription-based businesses such as Ancestry.com, SurveyMonkey and Lynda.com, led the financing. Prezi plans to use this investment to accelerate its rapid global growth. The company also announced today that it has surpassed 50 million users, nearly doubling in the past twelve months. With more than 160 million prezis created to date, Prezi has the world's largest publicly available presentation database.
"We are thrilled to have Spectrum on board as an investor in Prezi. They understand our business, have deep expertise with cloud-based software companies and have a long term perspective, just like we do," said Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder of Prezi. "Our expanding community relies on Prezi to help make their presentations memorable -- from the classroom to the boardroom. We are here to build the best experience for presenters to engage their audiences."
"We have followed the growth of Prezi for a few years and believe that Prezi is quickly becoming the preferred application for businesses, entrepreneurs and educators, to create and deliver distinctive visual presentations and share ideas. We believe Prezi's product platform, coupled with the power of its growing user base and content library, make this a particularly compelling opportunity," said Victor Parker, Managing Director at Spectrum Equity. "Prezi is exactly the kind of company we want to invest in: it has an innovative and disruptive product, strong international brand driving organic traffic at scale, a growing user-generated content library and a compelling business model."
Prezi's rapid global growth can be attributed to business users looking for a more impactful way to present, which helps them land clients, train customers, and inspire audiences. Many teams within companies such as Salesforce, Lufthansa, Marriott and IBM have switched from slides to Prezi, citing measurable increases in results.
"I've seen customer satisfaction increase substantially -- nearly 30 percent -- since switching to Prezi for my presentations 18 months ago," noted Robert Duffner, Director of Mobile Strategy at Salesforce. "It's exciting to see such a significant jump in the perceived quality and delivery of content; we know Prezi is making a measurable difference in our meetings."

New Prezi Survey Also Shows Audiences Are Distracted; Presenters Take Extreme Actions to Reduce Nerves & Avoid Presenting
Prezi, the interactive, cloud-based presentation platform that helps you connect more powerfully with your audience, in collaboration with Harris Poll and best-selling author and executive coach Carmine Gallo, today released survey results which explore the emotional side of presenting and how business professionals deal with this stressful on-the-job requirement, often in extreme ways.
The survey reveals an important link between success at work and effective presentation skills in an age where ideas and innovation are the key business drivers. The ability to show the relationship between complex ideas, reveal the big picture and tell a clear story is now a fundamental job requirement, whether for a weekly team call, a mission-critical business pitch to the boss, or while closing a sale. Furthermore, delivering a presentation can be so anxiety-inducing, that people would go to great lengths to avoid having to give one.
"In the information age -- the knowledge economy -- you are only as valuable as the ideas you have to share," says Carmine Gallo, author of the international bestselling book, 'Talk Like TED: The 9 Public-Speaking Secrets of the World's Top Minds.' "Poor presentation skills mean that leaders fail to inspire, products fail to sell, entrepreneurs fail to attract investors, and careers fail to soar. Great presentation skills will help you stand apart in the world of ideas."
Key survey findings:
Career success is seen as highly dependent on presentation skills; however, commonly used slide-based presentations software is not effective.
Co-Founders Recognized for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Driving Global Growth
Prezi, the cloud-based presentation platform company that helps presenters connect more powerfully with their audiences, today announced that CEO Peter Arvai, CTO Péter Halácsy and Principal Artist Ádám Somlai-Fischer have won the coveted Europas award for "Best Startup Founder or Co-founders." In its fifth year, the annual Europas Awards celebrate Europe's most forward-thinking, progressive and innovative technology companies. Nominations were received and voted on by the public, then narrowed to a category of six for the final round of judging by a jury of entrepreneurs and investors.
The winner of the "Best Startup Founder or Co-Founder" category was chosen based on the company's rapid global growth and their initiatives to drive innovation and support entrepreneurs in Europe. Underscoring these criteria, Mike Butcher, the founder of the Europas, said, "Prezi's founders not only instilled a wonderful company culture, but also showed how a winning product can attract 40 million users so quickly. Such success stories are rare and the Europas Awards wanted to emphasize this great achievement."
This recognition of rapid global growth comes soon after Prezi turned five years old and doubled their user-base in one year, averaging 55,000 new sign-ups each day over the past six months. Prezi attributes this growth to the increasing need for effective communication in this era of information overload. In a larger effort to support this, Prezi is also available in French, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
A leading SaaS company revolutionizing the online workspace, Prezi is ideal for frequent business presenters such as creative agencies, sales reps who use the iPad app to boost field sales, and individuals who need a powerful way to pitch to investors or clients. Among the Prezi community are companies such as Crunch Fitness, which has noted a 30% increase in their franchise closing-ratio since pitching with Prezi and now has 88 locations in the United States. Many other forward-thinking companies, such as Autodesk, Bloomberg, Box, Discovery Communications, Edelman, Walgreens and Zendesk, have also moved beyond the slide.

Presentation Platform Celebrates 5th Anniversary With 10 Million New Sign-Ups Since October
Prezi, the cloud-based presentation platform that helps presenters connect more powerfully with their audiences, today announced that its user community has grown to 40 million. The company, which attained 30 million users last October, has seen an average of more than 55,000 new sign-ups each day for the last six months. This week also marks the company's 5th anniversary.
Prezi attributes its rapid growth to the increasing need for effective communication in this era of information overload. Prezi's CEO and cofounder, Peter Arvai, says, "When you deliver a presentation, you're competing against everything for your audience's attention. Prezi helps you organize your thoughts and deliver them in a clearer way that really helps your audience understand and remember your message."
Prezi users agree the tool has made them better presenters. Adrian Chang, Senior Principal Consultant at Oracle, delivers about five presentations each week and was looking for a more effective medium. "I was really excited to find Prezi. Since I started using it, my presentations have become more engaging and impactful. The highly visual format connects with my colleagues in a way that slides never could."
Mike Butera, CEO of hardware start-up Artiphon , appreciates Prezi's versatility. "When I started Artiphon, I knew Prezi would be a great tool for investor pitches and we had huge success -- even a feature story in Forbes . But lately, we've also been using it to collaborate remotely and showcase our product for potential customers."
While Prezi enjoyed initial growth in the education space, recently joining tech luminaries Apple and Microsoft to support The White House's ConnectED Initiative to support Title I schools, its focus is shifting increasingly toward the business market. Current growth is coming from frequent business presenters such as creative agencies, sales reps who use the iPad app to boost field sales, and individuals who need a powerful way to pitch to investors or clients.
Prezi is one of several SaaS companies revolutionizing the online workspace, a trend which includes Dropbox, Salesforce, Zendesk and many other influential start-ups.

Company Achieves 50% Growth in Last Six Months and Expands Executive Team
Prezi, the zooming presentation software, announced today record growth and new capabilities to help business professionals land new clients, sell products and share ideas in a more memorable and engaging way. More than 30 million people across the globe are using Prezi. This growth represents a 50 percent increase over the last six months with more than 1.5 million new people joining the Prezi community every month. As Prezi continues to grow, it has also added new executives with experience at Apple, Cisco and Google.
"We are no longer in an era where one company controls the productivity market. People now have more tools than ever before to make them more effective at work," said Peter Arvai, CEO and co-founder of Prezi. "Prezi adds value by helping people express their ideas in a more creative and strategic way."
Established companies like Box are using Prezi to train their customers and emerging companies like Artiphon use Prezi to pitch investors and sell products. Craig Pepin-Donat, the co-founder and executive vice president of Crunch Fitness , the worldwide chain of fitness centers, uses Prezi to close franchise partnerships. "Our 'Franchise Opportunity' prezi has yielded a 30 percent increase in our closing ratio and all of our training modules are now served up in Prezi," said Pepin-Donat. "If you're not using Prezi, it's like you're using a chisel and hammer to deliver your presentations."
In addition, Prezi is helping drive rapid adoption of collaborative tools in the workplace. According to the 2013 research report by MIT Sloan and Deloitte, 90 percent of businesses will be using collaboration tools by 2015. By combining the power of the cloud, mobile computing and engaging design, Prezi helps professionals collaborate more effectively and persuasively present ideas from any device, anywhere in the world.
Prezi continues to set new standards in stunning design and powerful features. Enhanced business capabilities include:
Popular Cloud-Based Software Is Now Available in Portuguese
Prezi, the zooming presentation software, announces its arrival in Brazil with a fully localized software. Prezi, with over 29 million worldwide users, is investing in Brazil because of the increasing demand in the region. While also available in English, Prezi currently has over a million Brazilian users.
"We strive to help people around the world share their ideas, because we believe that sharing ideas makes the world a better place. Brazil is known as a country of creativity and innovation, and therefore we're confident of Prezi's growth in the region," explains Peter Arvai, CEO of Prezi.
Guilherme Herme Criscuolo, a São Paulo based digital designer, has been designing presentations in Prezi for over a year. When asked how he views Prezi versus other presentation software, he says: "With Prezi we can turn a simple presentation into a memorable experience, besides it is very practical and easy to use."
Instead of traditional presentation slides, Prezi uses an open canvas that allows people to see the big picture and connect ideas that are impossible to connect in a linear format. Users can zoom into small details and zoom out to reveal the larger meaning of their presentation. This visual impact engages the audience and helps them remember the content presented to them. With Prezi's multi-platform solution, you can access your prezis anytime and anywhere -- on the Internet, your desktop, your iPad or iPhone. Prezi also makes it easy to collaborate with others -- it is the only major presentation software that allows multiple people to co-create a presentation online simultaneously.
One of the main advantages of Prezi is the ease of inserting media like video and sound, allowing the user to create a dynamic, visual story instead of a bullet point slideshow. Also, since Prezi is accessible online, you can easily share your presentations with friends and colleagues around the world.
The company was founded in Budapest in 2009 by Adam Somlai-Fischer, an architect and interactive designer; Peter Halacsy, a university professor in new media; and Peter Arvai, a serial entrepreneur. Currently, the company has offices in San Francisco and Budapest.
In 2009, Prezi raised 1.5 million from Sunstone Capital and TED Conferences. In November 2010, the company secured an additional $14 million in a new investment round led by Accel Partners, with participation of Sunstone Capital.

Idea Economy Survey Reveals Creativity and Collaboration Outpace Experience as Top Priorities for Businesses
Prezi, the zooming presentation tool, has integrated collaboration and published a collaboration map that shows how different countries are working together in Prezi. Additionally, the company released its Idea Economy survey results that reveal collaboration and creativity are the most important assets as businesses evolve in a global economy.
"We're committed to eliminating the barriers to idea-sharing around the world," says Prezi CEO and co-founder Peter Arvai. "The interactive map inspires us to work even harder to make idea sharing secure and easy from any location."
Collaboration in Prezi
Prezi collaboration enables up to 10 people to design and contribute to a presentation or up to 30 people to watch a presentation online at the same time. The interactive map is a real-time indicator of where Prezi collaboration sessions are taking place around the world. Prezi also developed a timelapse video that shows three days of Prezi collaboration as people work on Prezis together around the world.
Idea Economy Survey
Prezi's Idea Economy survey takes a pulse on Prezi users views on business trends related to the most valued qualities in the workforce. The findings show the evolving landscape towards the business community embracing collaboration and creativity over traditional work experience. As more leaders and businesses grow to embrace creativity and collaboration, Prezi continues to evolve its design to cultivate a collaborative space for sparking and sharing ideas. Key findings from the survey include:
Hires Evan Czaplicki, Creator of Elm in an Effort to Move Front-End Programming Forward
Prezi, the zooming presentation tool, announces the hiring of Evan Czaplicki as part of an open source initiative to develop Elm, a new computer programming language, with the potential to drastically simplify front-end programming for the web.
"Traditionally, programming languages have been supported and marketed by the huge companies in tech; Bell Labs created C, Sun created Java, and currently Google is working on Dart and Go ," says Prezi's CTO and Co-founder Peter Halacsy. "Now it has become easier for languages like Python and Ruby to succeed without a lot of money because open source creates a strong network when people are excited about an idea and can collaborate. We think Elm can contribute to open-source collaboration too."
Elm was born out of Czaplicki's senior thesis at Harvard where he was attempting to solve the problem of building complex applications in JavaScript. He aimed to do this by developing Elm -- an open source, statically-typed, functional-reactive programming language that compiles down to JavaScript and runs in a browser.
Evan joined Google's Gmail team in 2012 but continued working on Elm in his spare time and fostering an active community of developers to broaden the language. In February, Prezi invited Czaplicki to speak about Elm at MLOC.JS , a developer conference in Europe. At this conference Prezi approached Evan to join their team and work on Elm full-time as an open source initiative.
"Elm aims to make front-end programming less complex. The wtf/minute in a given JavaScript codebase can be pretty high, and I want to prove that we can do better by using the past 30 years of programming language research to create a language that makes it easier to get stuff done," said Czaplicki. "What attracted me to Prezi is that they are open to investing in a long-term solution rather than hoping that someone gets this whole JavaScript thing sorted out."

Accelerating the Idea Economy, Prezi Adds 1 Million Users Every Month; Introduces Sound Capabilities to Amplify Presentation Impact
Prezi, the zooming presentation platform liberating the world from boring static presentations, has surpassed the 20-million user mark and is introducing audio capabilities. Fueled by the market's demand for creative thinking, big ideas and compelling storytelling, Prezi has doubled its user base, from 10 to 20 million in the past ten months. Prezi is adding one million new users every month with more than one new prezi created every second.
"We're entering a global idea economy," said Prezi's CEO, Peter Arvai. "We rely on ideas to innovate in business and move society forward, and Prezi is giving people a more memorable and engaging way to share their ideas. Our new audio feature is just an added element to enhance storytelling, taking it beyond a purely visual journey to a full cinematic experience."
Many of Prezi's 20+ million users choose Prezi specifically because it's ideal for communicating big ideas and revealing relationships between them. Prezi helps presenters and audiences get to an understanding that can't be reduced to a linear, 2D slide format. For example, this year TED Conferences featured at least eight presentations created using Prezi. Miranda Wang and Jenny Yao used Prezi at this year's TED Conference to inspire the audience with their revolutionary idea for breaking down plastics with soil bacteria -- an idea they developed while still in high school.
Social sharing is amplifying the power of groundbreaking ideas on a global scale. It is not unusual for one of the millions of prezis showcased on Prezi.com to take off virally and be seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers. For example, one great prezi created last year on the theory of relativity had a prolonged social spike and has now been seen by over 750,000 people.
Prezi is constantly setting new standards in stunning design and powerful features -- from 3D and mobile editing to professionally designed templates and a new, intuitive user interface. Now, Prezi is giving presentations a voice by adding sound capabilities, a feature that Prezi's avid user base has been soliciting for some time.
Prezi's rapid adoption cuts across established markets, from consumers to enterprises. Seventy-five percent of Fortune 500 companies currently use Prezi, and the Prezi iPad app has been downloaded almost 2 million times (and counting).
Ryan Hamilton, President and CEO of Geared for Imagination, the maker of the eco-friendly children's toy company Topozoo, attracted the Smithsonian and Whole Foods as vendors using Prezi. "I mapped out the Topozoo story on the digital canvas and was able to engage our potential audience in a dynamic way," said Hamilton. "Now with sound capabilities we're excited to make our prezis sing. We rely on Prezi to help us to creatively tell our story and reach new audiences."

Hedwyg Van Groenendaal Wins for Inspiring Prezi Based on Bryan Stevenson's "We Need to Talk About an Injustice" TED Talk
Prezi, the zooming presentation software that has liberated the world from boring, static presentations, today announced the winner of the Ideas Matter Contest . In February, Prezi teamed up with the illustrious Technology, Education, Design (TED) conference and launched "Ideas Matter," a contest to unite Prezi's commitment to the proliferation of big ideas with TED's platform to showcase "ideas worth spreading." Hedwyg Van Groenendaal of the Netherlands has been selected the winner. She created a powerful prezi based on Bryan Stevenson's impassioned talk from TED 2012, entitled "We need to talk about an injustice." Barcelona based, Marco Marinucci was first runner-up for his dynamic prezi based on Sarah Kay's TED talk, "If I should have a daughter."
"Hedwyg's prezi repurposed inspiring parts of Bryan's talk and added imaginative depth to spread the idea for a wider audience," says Prezi CEO Peter Arvai. "We're very impressed."
This week at TED2013 in Long Beach, Calif. TED Curator Chris Anderson and Prezi CEO Peter Arvai selected the grand prize winner from a competitive pool of 12 finalists. After weeks of voting, two (or three in the case of tie) finalists were chosen for each of the five TEDTalks.
The contest called upon the global Prezi community to create a prezi inspired by one of five notable TED presentations, including critically acclaimed author of "Eat Pray Love," Elizabeth Gilbert, world renowned spoken word poet and founder of Project V.O.I.C.E., Sarah Kay and New York Times bestselling author, Chip Conley. All of the finalists will receive lifetime Prezi Pro licenses.

Prezi and TED (the nonprofit sponsor of presentations and conferences around Technology, Education, and Design) have joined forces to unite Prezi's commitment to the proliferation of big ideas with TED's platform to showcase "ideas worth spreading." The contest calls upon the global Prezi community to create a prezi inspired by one of five notable TED presentations, including critically acclaimed author of "Eat Pray Love", Elizabeth Gilbert, world renowned spoken word poet and founder of Project V.O.I.C.E., Sarah Kay and New York Times bestselling author, Chip Conley. Winning prezis will be featured on the TED blog and promoted by TED Curator Chris Anderson via social media channels.
Starting now and until Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at 11:59pm PST entrants can submit prezis to prezi.com/ideas-matter-contest . To promote their submission and win the popular vote, entrants are encouraged to tweet @Prezi using the hashtag #ideasmatter. Ten finalists, two for each talk, will be determined based on popular vote and a Prezi judging panel.
TED Curator Chris Anderson and Prezi CEO Peter Arvai will select the grand prizewinner from the pool of ten finalists.
The five TED talks to choose from are:
Unveils Localized Websites in Spanish, Japanese and Korean
Prezi, the zooming presentation that makes sharing ideas fun and engaging, launched localized websites in Spanish, Japanese and Korean languages today. The new websites will bolster adoption among the Spanish, Japanese and Korean-speaking communities, making it even easier to share big ideas and make an impact worldwide. Prezi continues its global expansion, surpassing the 17 million user mark, with more than one million new users joining each month and two prezis created every second.
"We've always had a global perspective at Prezi recognizing that great ideas are not bound by geography, culture or language," said Prezi CEO, Peter Arvai. "The new localized websites will help our communities across the globe to tell even more powerful stories."
There are more than 1.6 million Spanish speakers in the Prezi community, the second largest language segment behind English, and three out of the top six countries using Prezi are Spanish-speaking (Colombia, Spain, and Mexico). Additionally, this community is skyrocketing with a year-over-year growth rate of almost 200 percent. "Many of our most popular prezis either originated in or are quickly translated to Spanish (see example)," remarked Drew Banks, Prezi Head of Marketing.
Japan is one of Prezi's most engaged countries, with an active community sharing ideas and presentations online and in person. Unsolicited social engagement has helped grow Prezi's adoption with Japanese-speaking users. An unofficial Prezi Facebook page has thousands of active community members, houses a host of creative prezis and organizes informal Prezi gatherings and events.
Seoul, South Korea is one of the top three most active cities in the world for Prezi usage. Korean authors pen two of the eight books written on Prezi with a Prezi for Dummies book translated by the founder of the Korean Facebook and Twitter pages, Jihoon Roh. Academic and instructive materials have helped foster the Prezi community, but creativity and self-expression have had a big hand too. The first account of what is now fondly referred to as a "Prezioki" came out of South Korea.
Designed by architect and visual artist Adam Somlai-Fischer, Prezi reinvents the traditional presentation with a virtual whiteboard that enables presenters to explore, develop, and tell their stories in a way that resonates with audiences. Recently Prezi unveiled a sleek new website and redesigned user interface for the English speaking market. These new localized websites further underscore Prezi's commitment to the proliferation and dissemination of ideas around the globe.
See this prezi for a look at some of the stats for the Spanish, Korean, and Japanese markets.

New iPhone App and iPad Editing Capabilities Extend Prezi's Mobile Offering
Prezi, the zooming presentation software that has liberated the world from boring, static presentations, has furthered its mobile reach with today's launch of a new iPhone app and expanded editing capabilities on the iPad. You can now start your prezi in the cloud, work offline on Prezi Desktop, finish it on the iPad, and show it on the iPhone.
"The presentation of big ideas is no longer limited to the boardroom, the podium, or the classroom. Mobile devices have fundamentally changed the way we work and play, and opportunities to share our most important stories and make an impact arise at any time and in any place," said Prezi CEO, Peter Arvai. "While improving the iPad app and launching the iPhone app were our priorities this quarter, we certainly believe mobility isn't limited to iOS and look forward to next year's developments."
Since its launch, the Prezi iPad app has surpassed more than 1.3 million downloads with users clamoring for more editing capabilities every download of the way. After successfully introducing "retouching" (minor editing) earlier this year, the company decided to expand the app's editing capabilities even further. Now, in addition to modifying existing prezis, users can create new prezis on their iPads.
"The iPhone was the natural next step in our mobile journey," said Prezi for iPhone Product Manager Kalman Kemenczy. "You're not truly mobile until you're in your customer's pocket."
A new survey of more than 600 Prezi users shows that mobile is the new normal. Prezi survey highlights include:
Delivering Design That Matters, Prezi Zooms Past 15 Million Users & Into the Enterprise
Prezi, the zooming presentation software that has liberated the world from boring, static presentations, today unveiled redesigned user interface (UI) and a sleek new website. The new UI, enhanced by professionally designed presentation templates, makes it even easier to develop and share big ideas through beautiful, engaging, and memorable presentations. Fueled by a demand for big ideas and visual storytelling, Prezi has surpassed the 15 million-user mark and has been adopted by over 75 percent of the Fortune 100 companies.
"We are seeing a boom in the idea economy where businesses are placing a premium on ideas that matter and will have a big impact. There has been a lot of talk about the consumerization of the enterprise, but the next phase is even more significant: the creativization of the enterprise -- where ideas are king," said Prezi CEO, Peter Arvai. "Developing and sharing ideas in meaningful and memorable ways is what Prezi is all about, and this redesign opens up our powerful platform to everyone."
Prezi's enhanced UI is based on principles of design thinking and was developed through months of research and testing. The result is a simple, intuitive experience and the ability to create captivating presentations quickly and easily. Prezi is also launching new presentation templates created by professional designers and communications experts. These templates use visual and structural metaphors that are relevant to a variety of presentation scenarios. Together, the new UI and templates facilitate the creation of well-designed and attention-grabbing presentations in just a few clicks.
Designed by architect and visual artist Adam Somlai-Fischer, Prezi reinvents the traditional presentation with a virtual whiteboard that enables presenters to explore, develop, and tell their stories in a way that resonates with audiences. Research has shown that memory retention improves when ideas are ordered spatially and associated with physical locations.* Prezi's design and new presentation templates incorporate this powerful memory-enhancing approach.
"Big thinking can come from small sources. My 14-year-old daughter introduced me to Prezi and I immediately saw the potential to help our company communicate ideas internally and with partners and customers," said Andy Barrons, vice president and chief marketing officer at Navis, a maritime technology company responsible for managing the movement of cargo through terminals. "Now, in a market crowded with information and competing ideas, Prezi helps our internal team collaborate and our sales team stand out."

Bold New Features Add Visual Depth and Help Presenters Tell Powerful Stories
Prezi, the zooming presentation software that has liberated the world from boring, static presentations, today announced the launch of 3D and Fade-in Animation. 3D backgrounds enable presenters to wow an audience with instant impact and visual depth. Fade-in Animation is a compelling storytelling tool used for selectively sequencing information to add dramatic tension. Text, graphics, or other media objects can be revealed on cue to reinforce specific presentations points. Together, these visual effects help people share big ideas and tell powerful stories.
"To think big and tell inspiring stories you need to have space to develop and share your ideas," said Peter Arvai, Prezi CEO. "Now, with a simple click you can create zooming presentations in 3D -- a true space for your ideas, and a memorable journey for your audience."
Designed by architect and visual artist Adam Somlai-Fischer, Prezi is pushing the boundaries of the traditional presentation. Instead of disjointed slides, Prezi is an open presentation canvas that enables the presenter to explore, develop, and tell a story in a way that resonates with audiences. Prezi's use of the z axis allows the presenter to use spatial relationships that help convey meaning and help audiences better comprehend and remember presentation content. Now, Prezi is taking presentations to a new dimension, bringing the power of 3D design and technology to the masses. The visual power of 3D instantly captures the audience's attention while Fade-in Animation further enhances the spatial understanding and results in a more memorable experience overall.
"This is 3D made simple. Now Prezi users can create their own 3D backgrounds with a click of a button, or choose from carefully designed and inspiring 3D templates," said Adam Somlai-Fischer, Prezi co-founder.
Edie Fraser, CEO of STEM Connector (an advocacy group for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education), tapped the power of 3D and Fade-in Animation for the US News & World Report STEM Summit 2012. "The new 3D and Fade-in Animation features take Prezi's visual impact to a whole new level. The audience at The STEM Summit was immediately captivated. Prezi helped us light a spark and electrify the conference."

Zooming Presentation Software Prezi Reaches Record User Adoption, Introduces PowerPoint Import to Enhance Visual Storytelling
Prezi, the zooming presentation software, is experiencing record adoption of its visually engaging presentations. The unique integration of nonlinear brainstorming and linear storytelling has helped Prezi surpass the 10 million user mark and is fueling its growth of a million new users every month. Now, Prezi is making it even easier for everyone to create beautiful, engaging, and powerful presentations with the ability to import PowerPoint slides.
"With Prezi, people inspire change -- in their schools, at the podium, and in the boardroom," says Prezi CEO, Peter Arvai. "There is a prezi created every second and the new PowerPoint import feature makes this evolution of collaborative, interactive storytelling accessible to all. It's time to think outside the slide."
The new PowerPoint Import enables quick and easy upload of PowerPoint slides into Prezi presentations. Users have the flexibility to insert an entire presentation at once, or select individual slides and drag them anywhere on the Prezi canvas. The import feature supports PPT and PPTX files and works on all web-based and desktop versions of Prezi. Integration with the Prezi Viewer for iPad means users can also view and present prezis anywhere and adjust content on the fly.
Designed by an architect and visual artist, Prezi breathes new life into presentations. Prezi's open canvas evokes limitless possibilities while the unique zoom in and out lens and z-axis allow for a more effective use of space to convey meaning. Prezi is used by thought leaders, educators, students, and businesses to inspire, teach, learn, and tell powerful stories.
"Prezi is helping reinvent the art of presentation. Farewell, one-dimensional thinking. Welcome instead the power of inter-connection, flexibility, and the unexpected," said Chris Anderson, curator of TED Conferences.
With teams in San Franciso and Budapest, the company has been cash-flow positive since its first year of operation. Prezi closed $14 million in Series B financing led by Accel Partners in December 2011 and is one of the few companies to receive investment from the The Sapling Foundation, owner of the illustrious technology, entertainment and design (TED) conferences. Prezi plans to continue to improve the product and redefine the communications landscape.

Prezi, the zooming presentation software, announced today that it has closed $14 million in Series B financing led by Accel Partners.
Prezi's fun, visually-engaging approach to presentations has attracted a rapidly expanding global customer base of over 7 million registered users. (For the company's historical timeline, see Prezi's "5 Millionth User" prezi published in October 2011.)
Known primarily for its cloud-based online presentation software, Prezi also offers Prezi Desktop for offline editing, Prezi Meeting for real-time collaboration, and the Prezi Viewer iPad app, which has climbed steadily in both use and user rating since its launch less than a year ago. It is now one of iTunes' top 10 free productivity apps.
Cash-flow positive since its first year of operation, Prezi has experienced unabated growth, attracting over 5 million of their 7 million registered users within the last year alone. The company will use the cash raised in this round to further accelerate this growth: aggressively hiring top talent, expanding its offering across multiple platforms, and widening its global reach.
"Sharing ideas should be fun!" says Prezi CEO, Peter Arvai. "Prezi is a great way of sharing ideas where both the big picture and small details matter. Business people and educators around the world are using Prezi to engage people in a deeper exchange of ideas and to ensure that those ideas have a lasting impact. We're excited to leverage Accel's extensive experience growing businesses."
According to Accel's Andrew Braccia, who led the investment and will be joining Prezi's board of directors, "The growth of web services is fundamentally altering the traditionally bundled environments of packaged software. Today's users want best-of-breed software that makes an impact in the lives of professionals and educators around the world. Prezi is redefining the presentation and communication landscape with its leading suite of online productivity software. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to join such an exceptional group of entrepreneurs."
The Series B also includes renewed participation by Sunstone Capital, who led the company's $1.5 million Series A in syndication with TED Conferences in 2009.

"Zooming" Presentation Platform Lets You Visualize, Present and Share Ideas in the Cloud
Prezi, the "zooming" presentation software, announced today it has reached the 5-million-user mark, just 2 years after it launched in 2009. Prezi helps business professionals, educators and thought-leaders alike to present their ideas in an exciting visual way.
Prezi has grown at a rapid pace since being funded by TED Conferences in 2009 -- including the opening of its US headquarters in San Francisco, and expanding its original offices in Budapest, Hungary.
Prezi's growth is accelerating: The company reached 1 Million users after 18 months, 3M users in March 2011, and 5M users this week. The addition of 4 million new users in the last year puts Prezi's growth on par with other successful startups like Evernote and SoundCloud.

"Our goal with Prezi is to make the sharing of ideas fun and interesting. We're thrilled to see a growing momentum of people wanting to move beyond the slide," said Prezi CEO Peter Arvai.
Chris Anderson, curator of TED Conferences, added: "Prezi is helping reinvent the art of presentation. Farewell, one-dimensional thinking. Welcome instead the power of inter-connection, flexibility, and the unexpected 'Aha!'"
The popularity of Prezi's zooming presentations reflects a pattern of new feature releases over the past year.
Prezi introduced Prezi Meeting for real-time collaboration and remote presenting, as well as the pinch-and-zoom Prezi iPad Viewer.
Zooming to 5 Million
Prezi, Inc., the company behind zooming presentations, today announced the release of the Prezi app for the iPad -- allowing users to easily share ideas and presentations on a touch-enabled, lightweight device.
Users can access presentations and pitches to share at conferences, or get buy-in on ideas from colleagues in impromptu hallway meetings -- all without the hassle of carrying a laptop.
"Prezi has taken information that used to be separated into slides and put it together in one space where users have bigger control over what they see and show -- like what web based maps have done for spiral-bound atlases," said Peter Arvai, chief executive officer of Prezi, Inc. "The touch-enabled iPad makes it even easier to leverage the zooming benefits of Prezi to show the big picture and details when pitching a new idea."
Prezi lets users pan and pinch to zoom in and out of topics without flipping through separated slides -- making it easier to connect ideas. With a new prezi created every 3 seconds, the Prezi app will help millions of iPad users share ideas and understand each other better.
Availability
The Prezi app for iPad will be available in the iTunes App Store in January 2011.
About Prezi
Prezi is a web-based presentation tool that lets users connect ideas in one space to form a story. The spatial approach allows users to easily arrange ideas as the presentation develops. Instead of having one idea per slide, Prezi facilitates visualization on a zooming, collaborative whiteboard. The result: stunning presentations that are magic for the audience. Prezi has two million subscribers in business, education, and the arts. Headquartered in San Francisco and with an office in Budapest, Prezi, Inc. is backed by TED conferences and Sunstone Capital. Shared Space to Connect Ideas and Work Together in Real Time
Prezi, Inc., the company behind the world's first slide-less presentation application, today announced the launch of Prezi Meeting--a new feature that allows users to work together in real time, whether in the same room or in globally dispersed locations.
"Prezi Meeting is the ideal way to brainstorm collaboratively and share thoughts with team members from disparate locations," said Michael Fauscette, group Vice President of Software Solutions, IDC.
"Unlike traditional slide-based presentation tools, Prezi lets users zoom in and out to examine the big picture and focus on details, which is great for creating and showing compelling messages," said Peter Arvai, chief executive officer Prezi, Inc. "Now, with Prezi Meeting, teams around the world can work together in real time or simply present prezis to each other."
Here's how Prezi Meeting works:
Prezi, Inc., the world's first slide-less presentation tool, announced its response to the front-page New York Times article, "We Have Met the Enemy and He is PowerPoint" with a Prezi version of the complex slide. It shows how Prezi can be used to reduce the number of arrows, zoom in on a detail, and zoom out for an overview. Prezi cites the lack of focus, not the complexity of the slide, as the problem. "Without focus, you cannot create a persuasive dialogue," says Prezi CEO, Peter Arvai. In Prezi, users can scale information to avoid showing an overwhelming amount of information in one view -- allowing audiences to focus on a specific point without getting lost in the details. "We believe that Prezi can help users, including those in the military, make more persuasive points by conveying information in a way that fosters dialogue."
About Prezi
Prezi, Inc., is a web-based, zooming presentation tool that facilitates visualization and storytelling on a large canvas, much like a whiteboard -- instead of traditional slides. In a few clicks, Prezi authors can create something more visually compelling than what would take hours to create with other tools. During a presentation, Prezi gives the audience the big picture so they can react to anything on the canvas at any point. Prezi allows presenters to easily zoom into details to address questions, which encourages dialogue and audience participation. With the ability to easily zoom out in Prezi, presenters never lose track of the overarching storyline when they zoom in to show details and answer questions. For additional information about Prezi, visit www.prezi.com.
Prezi, Inc. announced its new Reuse feature, which allows Prezi users to edit and build on an entire presentation rather than start with just a template -- cutting the time to create a presentation from hours to minutes. The first of its kind for a presentation tool, the Reuse feature gives users the chance to not only add their own prezis to the Reuse Library, but to edit and remix prezis created by others including those from famous speakers and Silicon Valley executives. The Reuse feature is free, and users retain the option of not making a prezi available for reuse. The Reuse Library already showcases hundreds of prezis that have been shared by users, with prezis from MySpace COO Mike Jones, Creative Commons CEO Joi Ito, and Stanford professor Howard Rheingold among the mix -- fostering a growing database of diverse knowledge for further reuse.
Prezi used to be called ZuiPrezi. "Zui" means"zooming using interface" and "Prezi" as in the Hungarian diminutive of presentation. On December 15th, 2008 we gave our site a face-lift and have officially dropped the "Zui". A lot of people had problems with pronouncing Zui so we figured that we should make our name simpler.
Today, we introduce to you: Prezi.
