- Born on Feburary 7, 1812
- Came from a poor family, but lucky enough to attend a school
- Father was jailed and Dickens was forced to leave school and work in a factory
- 1836 married Catherin Hogarth and had ten children together
- Died on June 9, 1870 from a stroke and is burried in Poet's Corner
