S BENEFITS TO THE COMMUNITY

Inexpensive to Install--Construction of a disc golf course is inexpensive, the maintenance costs are minimal and the play is free in the majority of cases.

Low impact exercise for all ages enhancing your park and community

Disc Golf Courses are Environmentally Friendly--There is no clear-cutting of trees, grading of land, costly fertilizer, or mowing maintenance necessary.

A Positive Investment--Players tend to take an active role in the course and the surrounding areas

The proposal fits with the city's master plan for recreation.

Draws disc golf players to the community to play the course and for tournaments.

Schools have been increasingly adding disc golf to their curriculum. Schools are finding that kids not only love the sport but that it helps developed critical thinking through scrutinizing and negotiating obstacles.(Bothwell middle school/ North Star academy )

Bang for the Buck-100 players can use the course at the same time, if you build a tennis court only 4 can use it.

Disc golf provides another oppurtunity for Year round recreation and fitness BENEFITS TO THE SPONSORING PARTY
NAME RECOGNITION

ROTARY WEST IS VERY ACTIVE WITH THEIR FUNDING THROUGH OUT THE COMMUNITY
BUT A PERMANENT SITE RECOGNIZING THEIR EFFORTS WOULD BE OUTSTANDING.

PROVIDING A DISC GOLF COURSE ON ONE OF THE MOST PICTURESQUE SITES IN THE CITY OF MARQUETTE WOULD SHOW THE COMMITMENT OF ROTARY WEST TO THE COMMUNITY PROMOTION OF A HEALTHY, SILENT, RECREATIONAL SPORT--Disc golf is a low impact exercise that can ease you into a higher level of fitness and health. Using disc golf as a low impact exercises will help you build strength, stability and balance.

Disc golf is becoming popular in Elementary Schools, Junior Highs, High Schools and College campuses.
( One of the fast growing sports
in the US and Europe)

Disc Golf provides a low-impact exercise that requires focus on mental strategy and provides an avenue for people of every skill level to play together. In addition to offering a fun activity, educational facilities are introducing the sport into their curriculum with an emphasis on physical fitness, ecology and planning. Other uses of the site
Moutain biking/hiking
There are Moutain bike trails on the site.

Great care has been taken to design the disc golf course so as not to interfer with bikers, hikers, or any other people that would possible be using the property.

Because of the terrains, the site would not typicaly be developed for any other recreational uses.

Disc golf courses can use a wide variety of terrain. Often times, land not suitable for other park activities or development is perfect terrain for a disc golf course. National Recognition of Marquette West Rotary
