The Life Cycle of a Butterfly Created by Sandra Joyce & Tessa McLean Stage Two: 5 days later the egg hatches
into a baby caterpillar (larva) Stage One: Eggs are laid by the Mummy
butterfly onto a leaf The baby caterpillar eats lots and lots of leaves
until he grows into a big caterpillar Stage Three: The big caterpillar attatches itself to a twig
and forms a hard outer shell known as pupa
or chrysalis Stage Four: Stage Five: Inside the pupa the caterpillar changes
into a butterfly Butterfly's do not live very long.
Female butterfly's lay eggs and the
life cycle begins all over again. Stage Seven: The big beautiful butterfly comes out
of the pupa Stage Six:
