Suicide
WHAT IS SUICIDE?
Suicide means deliberately ending our own life for many different reasons. "Suicide is not illegal, but that doesn't mean there are no victims. The impact on our friends and families is devastating and lasts forever." [1] Morever, nowadays, suicide is issued a lot because of suicide bombs in many countries such as Russia, Iraq and pakistan and it is thought as actual huge problem.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
-Winston Churchill

Moreover, people also may attempt suicide because of "a genetic predisposition, personality trait, physical illness, drug abuse, social isolation, housing, and job problems."[4]

4 TYPES OF SUICIDE
 Egoistic suicide: the result of excessive individuation; too low social integration.
 Altruistic suicide: too much social integration; extremely unfree
 Anomic suicide: too low moral regulation
 Fatalistic suicide: too much moral regulation

According to Durkheim's theory, there are general 4 types of suicides based on two social forces: social integration and moral regulation:
Future Scenarios
Why it is a social problem?
Why it is an individual problem?
How do people affect suicide?
This is because it's an individual who has a problem and thinks it'd be better to end his/her life and actually commits suicide. It may be a social factor that leads suicide to individuals, but it's the, who think their lives are meaningless so they want to get out of it. Society doesn't encourage people to commit suicide and actually, it wants to prevent suicide.
Example
In Canada, a 15-year-old girl called Amanda Todd took her own life after she uploaded a video on YouTube which was about her bullied life.” sexual exploitation online, cyber bullying, a physical assault at school leaded up to hear death.” [5] .In the video, she said that she had nobody and she needs somebody.”[6] And also, “she described boys tormenting her, and girls beating her so severely in there.” [7]
Example
EXAMPLE: Egoistic suicide
EXAMPLE:Altruistic suicide
EXAMPLE: Anomic suicide
EXAMPLE: Fatalistic suicide
Our behavior is becoming more blasé and self-centered. Even we found out someone who suffer from depression, we tried to ignore it and to save ourselves from the problems. Less interaction between people may encourage people to commit suicide. Moreover, self-centered behavior makes us to give less attention to other people, which sometimes, makes some people to think that they are useless and meaningless to their society.
Suicide would be committed more often, especially anomic and egoistic suicide. This is because the society and technology are changing rapidly and because of the overpopulation, there will be a number of people around the world who would not be able to be cared by the society. Moreover, due to development of internet, cyber bullying, one of the main reasons of suicide committed by teenagers, is likely to be more common in the future. A study in the International Criminal Justice Review by Holt, " those who said they were cyberbullied(27% of students experienced bullying online, and 28% were victims of bullying by phone text messaging) were also most likely to say they had considered suicide -- 28%, compared to 22% who were physically bullied and 26% who received bullying text messages." [13]

Résumé
Razors pain you, Rivers are damp, Acids stain you, And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful, Nooses give, Gas smells awful. You might as well live.
-Dorothy Parker, Enough Rope

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
—Albert Einstein
Bridge of the Life in Seoul, South Korea
According to "WHO"[12],Republic of Korea is one of the countries which have high suicide rate (62people/100,000people). Therefore, this bridge of the life was made in 26th of Sep, 2012 in order to prevent suicide. There are 1.8km of LED stands which have some messages for people to encourage them and make them feel they are not alone. The light turns on as someone passes by.
Today may remain as a memory in the future and all of your difficulties may flow as the river.
You only need a comma(rest), not a period.
Do you still remember what you had worried 3 years ago? How about a year ago? 6months ago? The problem that you are having now, may become like that soon.

The world most beautiful light.

Cory Monteith, the 31-year-old ‘Glee’ actor was found dead at the Pacific Rim Hotel in the city centre on July 13, 2013. As he had a history of substance-abuse, the cause of death was expected as drug overdose at the first and it was right. According to the dailymail, his "official cause of death is listed as 'mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol."[8]

Every year, there are “around 800,000” (11) people commit suicide. There are several reasons for someone commits suicide like: Mental disorder, depression, drug abuse, alcoholism. “Suicide receives increasing attention worldwide, with many countries developing national strategies for prevention. Rates of suicide vary greatly between countries, with the greatest burdens in developing countries”. (11)

Different countries have a different of preventing people from committing suicide, and there are several ways of preventing them in different situations. Like when someone suffers from depression, the easiest way to stop them is someone can talk to them or can understand them. But it is very hard to stop someone when they intend to suicide that they don’t want anyone to know. In this way, many countries have the same way of prevention. It is to block the way they can suicide like to build up the higher fence on the bridge, or in the mountain.

Suicide has many different situations, but there are some warning signs that you can recognize like when they talk or writing about death/suicide, change in mood, ending a relationship and so on. But I think suicide in some cases have their positive effect. Like when then suffer from endless physical pain, the best way is to let them go.
Suicide is still a very tough issue. But in different cases, there are different ways to solve. And there are must be some effective ways to solve it.

Suicide in Vietnam
Summer in Vietnam is as known as suicide season of teenagers or young adult, “committing suicide because they fail the university entrance exams and the number has been increasing year after year” (9). Most of the cases of committing suicide by teenagers were reported explanation was because “the pressure is intense, especially in a country where many poor students need a diploma from a good university to rise into the middle class”(10). This diploma doesn’t only affect their future but also their families, that’s why most of the parents put so much pressure on their child.
A thoughtless act can take hundreds of people’s lives in 2003 in Daegu, the Republic of Korea. A middle aged man, Kim Dae Han, decided to end his life but he thought that it was too unfair to just die without any attention (combination of egoistic and anomic suicide.) Therefore, he brought a bottle of gasoline to the subway and spread it out then burnt it with a lighter. Although, ambulances came quickly people could not escape the subway because of toxic gases and fire. It caused 192 deaths and 21 missing people.
Surprisingly, in the US, more soldiers died by committing suicide than died in military action. According to the guardian, "349 service members took their own lives in 2012, while a lesser number, 295, died in combat." [2] Maybe because they watched so many people dying in front of them so they’d feel guilty and anxious every time. According to Leon Panetta, Defense Secretary in US, there is no freedom but high pressure in the army. No individual actions are allowed so we always suffer from post traumatic stress and other mental health issues.
“Teenage suicide is usually cited as an example of this type of suicide, as is suicide committed by those who have been sexually abused as children or whose parents are alcoholics.” [3] and people who think that they don’t belong in the society and can’t adapt the rapid social changing.
Most of the suicide are committed by social factors such as domestic abuse and bullying .

There are some social factors that affect individuals to commit suicide:

"1.Domestic and marital matters:
From 1900 to 1950 the statistic showed that me has higher suicide rate than women and especially unmarried men.
Since 1990 the rate of suicide in teenagers has increased due to the marital confliction or seperation of parents and it is likely to commit suicide when the children had experienced sexual, physical and mental abuse.

2. Economic and work problems:
Suicide that affected by economic are more recently common, and it has been an issue since 1900 in Aukland. This is due to the inability of earning income and economic depression.”(14)

“3.Alcohol and drugs:
Alcohol was a major factor in suicides among men, this often happened to men who abuse alcohol and drugs, unemplyed and has marital problems

4. Physical illness:
In 1939 there are limited source of painkiller for patients who suffers from illnesses that cause physical pain so they choose to commit suicide to stop suffering from the pain.

5. Life crisis:
This happens when a close relatives dies or victim has breakdown in romantic relationships, this happened more to women than men in 1900 – 1950. And some evidence that people who are gay, lesbian or bisexual have a greater risk of suicide, perhaps because social prejudices increase the likelihood of depression.”(14)

Fatalistic suicide often committed in strict society (countries) such as ,Afghan and North Korea where there are too much regulation. The society wants people to behave rigorously. Moreover, religion can also lead fatalistic suicide, because some religion like muslim are very strict about their action.
