Parallelism Definition: The repetition of sentence patterns or of other grammatical structures. Mistakes: What the heck? "Faulty Parallelism"? Examples Why Parallelism is important it keeps the sentence in the same tense

How to identify parallelism To identify parallelism, isolate same tenses or parts speech that repeat.
Parallelism provides one of the few structural situations in which the subject for each verb does not need restatement
i.e. I enjoy, baseball, soccer, and lacrosse. (identical noun forms)
He went biking, skating and snorkeling on his trip. (identical verb forms) Faulty parallelism is when the words put into pairs go in different directions because they don't have the same form or tense.
To check for this, read the sentence out loud and it will be easier to find the error. If it sounds right, faulty parallelism wasn't used. Examples of right and faulty parallelism Right
