Cooking Classes
The goal in offering cooking classes is to educate participants in managing their nutrition through interactive cooking classes on campus.
Weekly Fitness Challenges and SMART Goals
For Example:
we will assign participants to complete 100 push-ups by the end of the week.
OR
accumulate a total of 3 miles by the end of the week.
Organize UNCG Student Workout Sessions
We will collaborate with the Student Rec Center to form an opportunity to find like-minded individuals for progression towards a healthier lifestyle

Every week we will set a new SMART goal and assign a workout challenge according to the FITT principle
The goal is to create a fun and social environment where students feel comfortable and give support to one another.
There are a lot of opportunities for students to get involved and improve their overall health and wellness on campus.
Nutrition is just as important as exercise when thinking about improving ones health.
Don't be intimidated by exercise, step out of your comfort zone and into a healthier lifestyle

We would collaborate with the UNCG Dining Services, Amy Moyer, the Registered Dietitian, and the Executive Chef John Clark.
Every session will focus on a well rounded fitness program that includes cardio-respiratory, muscular strength or endurance and flexibility training.
Meetings can be on and/or off campus

One-Third of the american population, which is approximately 78.6 Million people, struggle with health issues related to obesity
Obesity has been connected to other health related issues such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some types of cancer
It is estimated that the total medical costs related to obesity in 2008 was $147 billion
Some of the leading causes of poor health is stress, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, limited access to fitness facilities, excessively busy lifestyle/lack of time to exercise, and lack of knowledge/awareness of how to properly take care of our bodies.
Your not alone. Seek out a community that can give you support in meeting you health goals.
We could also collaborate with local business like "The Stocked Pot" that offer cooking classes
