Cyberbullying What is it? Cyberbullying is when a child is humiliated or targeted by another child or group of children using the internet or other digital technology. Have you witnessed this before? 42% of all kids have been bullied while using the internet 58% of kids say that someone has said mean things to them online. More than 40% have had it happen more than once. 21% of kids have received hurtful messages or emails. 53% of kids have been the bully and said something mean to another kid online. 1/3 of them have done this more than once. 58% of kids have not told their parents or an adult about being cyberbullied. Where can cyberbullying occur? emails text messages messages Facebook MySpace Twitter Voicemails Instant Messenger Pictures Websites What can YOU do about it? Tell a trusted adult if you are being bullied and keep telling them until actions are taken! Don't pass along cruel or harmful messages. Learn how to block communication with cyber bullies. Never reveal computer passwords or other private information Don't retaliate. Don't be a bully! Help stop cyberbullying, be safe and respectful when using technology!
