Somali Tribe The population is
15-17 million people The population is growing They speak Somali and Arabic, the official languages of Somalia Women wear Guntiino's, a long stretch of cloth tied over the shoulder and draped around the waist Most Somalians fast during Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islam year. DABSHID ( fire burning): it is an annual festival in Lower Shabelle region, which the local people burn a big fire and dance around it. Rite of passage - a ritual event that marks a person's progress from one status to another Rite of passage example -
Birth is always an important event. Sheep or goats are killed to celebrate the birth of either a boy or girl.
