THE ELEMENTS OF ART are the basic visual symbols (or parts) that artist combine together to make a work of art.

The Elements of Art
LINE
FORM
The Elements of art are like ingredients you put together to make a pizza.
Line...is the most basic of all of the Art Elements. Line is defined as the path of a dot through space.

COLOR is what the eye sees when light is reflected off of a surface.

There are many colors but the primary colors are RED,
YELLOW
& BLUE.
SHAPE
SHAPE is the area clearly set off by one or more Elements of Art. There are two groups of shapes.

TEXTURE
TEXTURE is the way something feels or looks like it could feel.
VALUE
Value is the range between light and dark. When drawing we create value as we use shading.
A chief blends things like cheese, mushrooms, pepperoni & other items to create a mouth watering pizza.
An artist blends line, color, shape, form, space, texture and value together to create a masterpiece.

As you and your team of chefs work together on blending and organizing the Elements you will find that your "artistic eye" is at work.

When we organize the Elements we are doing so with the Principles of Design. These are important in how the elements are arranged.....We will talk about these more when we finish this project and reflect upon how each pizza collage looks!!!!
Who is that back there??
Today we will blend the elements of art to create a collage pizza.
Collage is a work of art that is made by attaching pieces of different materials (such as paper, cloth, or wood) to a flat surface.
For our artwork We will be using various colors of construction paper to create our "Collage Pizza" with a focus on using art elements and organizing them in a creative, unified way.
