Barton was brave and showed a lot of integrity by providing service to those without food, bedding, clothing and those who were wounded.
Trustworthiness, and Respect
Clara was always sincere and
Clara Barton founded the American red cross in 1881 and led it for the next 23 years
Helped nurse wounded soldiers
Barton was consistently devoted to helping others
Barton wrote letters for the soldiers,, read to them , listened to their problems and played with them.
"Angel of the Battlefield"
Barton was well known and respected for all the wonderful things she did for the soldiers
Became a teacher at the age of 15 and didn't charge anyone
Clara always fulfilled her responsibilities as a teacher and a healthcare provider
She was given the title by president Lincoln as the "go to person" for missing men during the civil war.
she always kept her promises to help search for the soldiers and helped identify over 22,000 missing men.
David, Claras brother fell off the top of a barn and was severly close to death. Doctors came and couldn't do anything about it. Clara nursed and took care of her brother for about a year. She stood by his side until he was better.
She never put herself first or worried about putting herself in harms way.
Clara always showed a great amount of respect to the soldiers by giving them not only the care they needed but also meeting their personal needs such as writing home to their families.
When Clara commited herself to something she always kept her word and followed through, When people asked her to help them find their family members she did.
She showed trust by always being there for the soldiers and giving them what they needed.
