There are very few ways of truly knowing if you are depressed,(unless you see a shrink or can notice the symptoms) so doctors ask a long list of questions and then go on from there. Only symptoms can show if you are depressed. Why are teens depressed.
There are multiple reasons why a teenager might become depressed. For example, teens can develop feelings of worthlessness and inadequacy over their grades. School performance, social status with peers, sexual orientation, or family life can each have a major effect on how a teen feels. Sometimes, teen depression may result from environmental stress. But whatever the cause, when friends or family -- or things that the teen usually enjoys -- don't help to improve his or her sadness or sense of isolation, there's a good chance that he or she has teen depression. We believe that there are a significant # of teens as well as adults who go through depression. Some major individuals in our community that are affected by depression are teenagers and parents. Teen parents
are the ones who are most affected by depression due to early parenthood. How widespread is the problem in your state or nation? In the USA alone there are millions of cases of people who are dealing with depression. Why should the government handle this problem? Should anyone else take responsibility for solving the problem? Why? We think they're to many people in the United States for the government to be able to control depression. Although they should support us with more Medical centers and medicacion. Parents should also be responsible for depression on thier own children. Treatments Future Effects Statistics Therapy

suffereing from dpression or
teenage suicide thoughts and
they are there to listen and to help you. Our Team Analysing The Problem And Finding A Solution Solutions to help the depresson problem in the United States The goverments initial start to help
teens with depression is: They should have after school programs, in which teens can come foward if they feel that they are depressed in any way. Margie Alexander Emmanuel Kyaira Mecca Another solution that can help depressed teens is : Schools or even the community can have big brother & big sister programs, for the teens could have someone to talk to and can trust to be there for them. Another good solution would be : For the parent of each teen suffering from depression, for them to pay more attention to there child, have more family time, maybe there child feels neglected. Parents should focus on there children more than on there work and not the little things that are not important. Panel #2 Proposing Our
Policy Panel #3 Our Policy Major individuals, groups, or organizations taking sides on the problem? Some groups or orginizations for
that handle depression are : Suicide Hotline 1800 - Suicide, Depression hotline, American Psychological Association National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression . Action Plan These orginazations can really help many
people. The people that should be interested into
these Hotlines are parents, friends, and relavtives
of the person is depressed. The best plan wouldnt be just 1, 2, or 3 but a combination of 1 and 3 Plan one dosen't include teens who are to afriad or, no longer have the will to go out there to solve the problems.

And plan 3 didnt give the paremts a way to commuicate and actually help their child other than noticing the issue.

So with the combined actions of one and three, we get both the parent and child to confront the problem together. Panel 1 Like drinking to dull the pain Ending up in a regretful situation Who's going to handle this ? The only way to ensure the programs secsess, is with the combined efforts of the executive branch, school systems and, educational boards. Followed by nonprofit oginiztions, youth groups, and concerned parents and individuals. If no one is there for the children now what will become of them? And that is a question we dare not ask. We must do what is right for them now so they can have a better tomarrow. Words for thought:
If you had the power to make a differance in a child's life, wouldnt you
