distinguish and accept responsibility for fulfilling personal needs
i.e. food and water, feeling safe, feeling like they belong, and having self confidence
once needs are identified, cadet should work towards satisfying them
Exercising Self-Control
practice self-restraint
try not to get too upset by situation in which they have no control
become irate or lose temper giving power in the situation to someone else
keeping cool better decisions are made
Exercising Self-Management
take charge of own life
organized and direct themselves
become independent
i.e. being punctual, being dressed correctly, etc.
Pursuing Self-Improvement
strive for self-improvement
i.e. being a better cadet, better at school, better friend
always strive for excellence

resolve disagreements with others at the lowest possible level
come up with a mutually satisfactory solution "win-win" solution
