Transcript of Dr. Myers' Learning Style

What's wrong with me?!
I doodle all over my notes, binder, book covers, hands, pants, and desk.
I can't sit still. My feet are tapping. I am fidgeting with my pencil and paper.
I am busy looking at everything and everyone around me. - oh look at the pretty flower outside the window!
I really like charts, graphs, mind maps, and color, color, color!
I have no idea what the teacher is saying. She sounds like "wah, wah wah wah"
How am I supposed to learn?!!!

Index of Learning Styles
- I like to see the BIG picture before learning all of the steps.

- I learn by thinking about what I learned and reflecting on my own work

- I like to think outside the box and do things my way.

- I like color, visual representation, and presentations

Learning Styles Inventory
- I like
visual representations
. I learn better when there is a
. I can
words, objects, and places in my head.

- I like to do things with my hands to help me learn. I have to write things down over and over to put into memory.
Ways to learn online
Have a fidget toy to play with
Sit on a work-out ball
Color-code as I read and review often
Use mindmaps and other visual representations.
Look at the whole assignment before looking at the steps
At the beginning of class, review the syllabus
Create new ways to complete tasks
Take time at the end of each week to reflect on what I have learned.
Keep a reflective journal to review for tests.
To sum it up....
