Images from Shutterstock.com The Chrysler building was completed on May 28th 1930. It was named after Walter P. Chrysler.The building has 77 floors and 34 elevators. The building today cost 15 million dollars. By building skyscrapers the people where able to get jobs and get money to get shelter. Thesis : During the 1920s and 1930s in the middle of the great depression skyscrapers created more jobs, allowing people to earn and feel more hopeful in the depression time. Architecture By: Eliasha Holt The Hearst magazine building was built for William Randolph Hearst plaza the publisher, the building sole and surviving component that collapsed in a scheme because of the depression. William Randolph Hearst Rockefeller center was a commercial project by John D. Rockefeller Jr.. it was dedicated to John Davison Rockefeller as well. John Davison Rockefeller This shows how they were building the Empire State Building in the 1930s. Empire State Building was the world tallest building it was 1250 feet until 1973. The Great Depression started all because of the stock crash in October 29 1929.
