Table of Contents
The next four pages are the Table of Contents.
BASIC SET-UP
Adding Our First Skills Entry
Skill 1: Annotating Text
On your table of contents, please put 1-2 under the page column and then Skill 1: Annotating Text beside that.
Adding Our First References Entry
On the last page of the Table of Content, put R1 as the page number and Syllabus as the title.
The Back of the Book
Back Cover
The back cover of your book should have your DOK chart and your writing rubric.
Boot Camp Week (08/10 - 08/14)
Organizing Your Smash Book
Words Worth Knowing
The next eight pages should be titled Words Worth Knowing.
References Section
From the BACK of the book, flip 10 pages and label the tenth page REFERENCES.
On the first two pages after the Words Worth Knowing section of the book, put the page numbers (page 1 on the left, page 2 on the right) and title each page Skill 1: Annotating Text
GLUE OR TAPE YOUR ANNOTATING TEXT NOTES ON PAGE 1. RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU NEED HELP.
Reading Journal
From the References page, flip 20 more pages and label the page READING JOURNAL.
Turn to the first page of the References section and number it R1. Put Syllabus as the page title.
PLEASE CUT OUT YOUR SYLLABUS AND WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
Adding the Account Log
On the last page of the Table of Contents, enter "R2" and "Account Log."

Put the Account Log on page R2 in the References section.
Creating the Reading Journal

Adding More References
Add the following to your REFERENCES TABLE OF CONTENTS
R3 Learning Styles
Fold in half (with Kinesthetic facing out) and attach to page R3.
R4 Multiple Intelligences
Fold paper in half so chart is facing out and attach the back portion. This should still be able to open up.
STILL ON R4
Tape Multiple Intelligences survey over the top. Use a piece of tape and tape along the book's spine. This should now flip open, revealing the chart underneath.
One Last Thing...
Put the 100 Things handout in the front cover of your Smash Book.
