This is and interview that allows Eminem to promote The Slim Shady LP by talking about what goes into making his music giving a bit more insight his life making his music more personal to the listener. http://www.cpyu.org/page.aspx?id=76693 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v1jwnu2UaM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTjl0EjZvYg http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/eminem-blows-up-20091105 Appearing live at MTV Spring Break in Mexico 1999 http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/eminem-blows-up-20091105 Album reviews are an important part of music marketing because they give a valued opinion of the music product. The Slim Shady LP was reviewed in many magazines, both online and hard-copy. Here is a review from AllMusic Magazine I found online. Merchandise Merchandise is a good way to promote album releases. These are T-shirts that are sold online and at Eminem's Tour he did to promote the album. Selling T-shirts helps make Eminem a brand name. TV appearances are a great marketing strategy and MTV is a huge influential music channel. By appearing live on MTV performing songs from the album, Eminem is reaching out to a large number of people and building a huge fan base. Being on TV is a huge marketing strategy and by performing his music live the viewers get to listen to the product. This is a video of Eminem whilst on the Vans Warped Tour. The tour was advertised at Spring Break in Mexico where he also performed and would have promoted this tour. Tours are big for promoting albums. This tour also has other acts performing so people who might not usually listen to this style of music will hear his music spreading the fan base.Word of mouth will also spread the word if they liked his music getting more people knowing about his music. Here is a quote from a review in the Rolling Stone magazine from the April 1999 issue. Reviews both online and hard-copy help promote the album and Rolling Stone magazine is a prestigious magazine with many customers. This copy Eminem is on the cover so straight away any one who buys or sees the magazine is now aware of him from getting on the cover.
