All major sports outlets provide coverage of the four major professional sports, but ESPN provides exclusive coverage of lesser known sports such as Horse Racing, Poker, Mixed Martial Arts, and Lacrosse.

For the more popular sports leagues such as the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NCAA Football and Basketball, ESPN employs a variety of reporters and bloggers that keep up with the ever changing trends and stories specific to each sport. Most websites include a subsciption fee for this type of coverage, but ESPN provies this service free of charge. The brainchild of a couple of nerdy sports fans with a little too much time, fantasy sports has continued to grow in popularity over the past two decades. ESPN provides free full featured leagues for all major professional sports. The system that ESPN uses is far superior to other free fantasy sports offered by other online retailers. ESPN now has over 30 interactive games that are all offered free of charge in their arcade. All of the games are sports related, catering to the market visiting the site, and there is sure to be one that will keep every user entertained.
ESPN.com can provide all of these services free of charge by selling add space on all the pages of the site. The financial support provided by the Disney Conglomerate doesn't hurt either.
