Left Camp to find remedy for poisoned tree Luke Luke is the antagonist of the story.
He poisoned Thalia's tree.
He took on Kronos's side (against the gods). Point of view The story has been narrated in first person by Percy. A Duo of Major conflicts Internal: When Percy comes to know that Kronos may kill him if he doesn't get on his side, he thinks that being son of Poseidon is a cruel joke rather than an honor.
External: The Camp Half-Blood, the only safe haven of demigods, is at the risk of being destroyed. Plot Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson journey to Polyphemus the Cyclops's cave to rescue Grover and obtain the Golden Fleece, the remedy for the poisoned Thalia's tree. Tyson Tyson is a cyclops, which means he is a normal person with one eye. Magical Mist makes it look like he has 2 eyes. Settings Camp Half-Blood, the only safe haven for demigods.
The Sea of Monsters, the place where the Golden Fleece, the remedy of the tree, is located. Themes Yin and Yang: Percy was thinking about going to Camp Half-Blood until he got a letter from Chiron.
Bravery and determination: The three friends were brave and determined enough to fight all the obstacles and obtain the Golden Fleece. Tone and Mood Tone: Serious (Percy is using words that sound serious such as "Then again".)
Mood: Nostalgic (Once the reader reads about the poisoned tree, it wants them to revert it to normal.) Foreshadowing In the beginning of the book, Percy dreams about Grover being in trouble by Polyphemus. Later in the book, they rescue him in the same place he dreamt about. Questions?
