November 7th, 1918 Adolf Hitler is born in Austia in Gasthof Zum Pommer. April 20, 1889 Adolf Hitler and his family move to Lambach, Austria. 1897 1898 Hitler and his family permanently move back to Leonding Austria. July 28, 1914 World War I begins. World War I ends The Holocaust Timeline

June 12th, 1929 Anne Frank is born. 1933 Adolf Hitler becomes Prime Minster of Germany. 1933 Anne Frank and her family move to Amsterdam, Netherlands because it has become unsafe for them to live in Germany because of Nazis discriminating Jews. November 9-10 1938 The start of the Holocaust. Nazis burn Kristallnacht (The night of broken glass) 1939 Adolf Hitler becomes Times magazine man of the year. August, 1939 The German invasion of Poland and World War II have begun. May 10th, 1940 Germany invades Holland. July 6,1942 Anne Frank and her family go into hiding at a place they call the annex. August 4th, 1944 Anne Frank's family, Fritz Pheffer, and the Van Pels get captured by the Gestapo after 2 years in the annex. August 8th, 1944 Anne Frank and her family are sent to a transit camp in Westerbork. 1944 The Eight prisoners were sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. The women and the men were separated. October 30, 1944 Anne Frank, Margot Frank, and Mrs. van Pel were sent to Bergen-Belsen. March 9,1945 Margot Frank died of Typhus disease at Bergen-Belsen. March 1945 Anne Frank dies at Bergen-Belsen few days after her sister Margot because of typhus disease. April 14, 1945 Bergen-Belsen is liberated by the allied forces, just a few weeks after Anne and Margot died. April 20, 1945 Adolf Hitler did not celebrate his birthday. He went into hiding in Berlin to escape from the Russians. April 29, 1945 Adolf Hitler gets married. April 30, 1945 Adolf Hitler commits suicide. May 7, 1945 Germany surrenders to the allied forces. June 3, 1945 Otto Frank arrives in Amsterdam, where he is reunited with Miep and Jan Gies. He knows his wife has died, but he does not know that his daughters have died too. September 2, 1945 World War II is over. October 24, 1945 Otto Frank receives a letter informing him that his daughters died at Bergen-Belsen. Miep gives Anne's diary to Otto. She found and hid the diary after the Franks' arrest and had been hoping to return it to Anne. 1947 The first 1,500 copies of the Diary of Anne Frank were published in Amsterdam. July 13, 1942 The van Pels, another Jewish family originally from Germany, join the Franks in hiding. July 5, 1942 Anne's older sister, Margot, receives a call-up notice to report for deportation to a forced-labor camp. June 5, 1942 Anne Frank receives a diary from her father Otto Frank. November 16, 1942 Fritz Pfeffer, the eight and final resident of the Secret Annex, joins the Frank and van Pels families. January 6, 1945 Edith Frank, Anne's mother, dies at Auschwitz-Birkenau. January 27, 1945 Otto Frank is liberated from Auschwitz by the Russian army. He is taken first to Odessa and then to France before he is allowed to make his way back to Amsterdam. This is a picture of a burned synagogue after "The night of broken glass." The middle building is the front of the annex. It was used as an office. The annex was hidden behind a bookcase in the back of the office. Fritz Pheffer, the 8th member to join he familes in the annex. This is Auschwitz, the largest concentration camp. Also, where the most people and children have died. This is a memorial for Anne and Margot Frank at Bergen-Belsen. These are the sleeping areas at Bergen-Belsen.
