Holocaust ABC book
A is for Adolf Hitler
The German Nazi leader that was in power between 1933-1945.
B is for B'richa
The illegal mass movement of the Jews throughout Europe after World War Two.
C is for Concentration Camp
Places where the Jews were sent to be worked to death or killed.
D is for Dehumanization
The Nazi policy that denied the Jews of basic civil rights.
E is for Euthanasia
The killing of Jews if they were sick, disabled, injured, pregnant, or children that began in 1939.
F is for Final Solution
The Nazis plan to kill the Jews of Europe.
G is for Genocide
The destruction of a certain group or people.
H is for Holocaust
The killing of six million Jews and millions of others by the Nazis between 1933-1945.
J is for Judaism
A religion that worships God based on the first testament of the Bible.
K is for Kristallnacht
The burning of almost two hundred synagogs, the raiding of over eight thousand jewish shops, and the moving of tens of thousands of jews on the night of November 9, 1948.
L is for Lebensraum
A word that means living space and Hitler needed one to create a vast german empire. Hitler chose Eastern Europe.
M is for Marranos
Jewish people who claimed Christianity to escape persecution.
N is for Nazi
A shorter term for "National Socialist German Workers'" party that followed Adolf Hitler and was the group that killed over six million Jews.
O is for Operation Barbarossa
The Germans invasion of the Soviet Union which started on June 22, 1941.
P is for Prejudice
An opinion that is based without any background research.
R is for Racism
A hatred of someone because of their race and during the Holocaust the race was Judaism.
S is for Scapegoat
Blaming someone or some group for a crime you committed.
T is for Tyranny
A government where one person rules over everything.
U is for Underground
A secret group that was formed to oppose the government.
V is for Vught
A concentration camp in the Netherlands opened in January 1943
W is for Wehrmacht
The forces of German army that combined from 1935-1945.
Y is for Yiddish
A language that combines the two existing languages of Hebrew and German.
Z is for Zyklon B
A pesticide that was used in gas chambers to kill the Jews.
