and wind to earth Two of the symbols of zeus is the lightning bolt and the eagle Zeus was the son of two titen rulers Cronus and Rhea Cronus was said to have heard that one of his children was going to destroy him To prevent this he swollowed his children right after they were born. This made his wife [Rhea] upset. When Zeus was born, she tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock wrapped in a cloth. Then she sent Zeus to a cave where he lived until he was a adult Zeus was associated with the planet jupiter. Zeus then forced Cropnus to disgorg the babies. Then Zeus released the brothers of Cronus, Gigantes, the Hecatonchires, and the Cyclopes from their dungion. As a token of their appreciation Cyclopes gave him lightning. Together, Zeus and his brothers and sisters along with cronus's brothers fought against Cronus and the other Titans. The defeated Titans were then cast into the shadowy underworld. After the battle with the Titans, Zeus shared the world with his elder brothers. Zeus got the sky and air, Poseidon got the oceans, and Hades got the Underworld. Zeus had a wife named Hera.
