Why was it made?
GPS was invented as a way for the Air Force, Army, and so forth to see very accurately where they are as compared with other units, or even as compared to enemy forces.
How would you improve the GPS ?
But with everything it all starts out with a first
How it started
Over the years of since the GPS was create the Electronical engineers have added on and adjusted and still are perfecting it to be a better more sufficient program.
Navigating in Foriegn countries
What areas has it helped?
The GPS satellite location system (Global Positioning System) was created in the early 1970s by the US Department of Defense to keep track of their military units. It became fully operational in 1994 and was rapidly adopted for commercial use. The system began with a group of 24 orbiting satellites, which send accurate signals to receivers on the Earth's surface. Comparing these signals to the known positions of the satellites allows precise determination of location, altitude, and relative motion.
How the G.P.S
has helped us
The G.P.S has helped humans by showing them the way to go somewhere for over 30 years.
Since this navigational device has been created we have been able to make advanced military technology wich has helped us monitor different countries and other facilities around the world.
Ups and downs of the G.P.S technology is that criminals have the ability to it to use by doing illegal things such as robbing banks or smuggling drugs. The other good reason is that we have been able to catch the criminals doing those illegal things.
Since the beginning of time man has wondered how to correctly navigate around the world. Before the stars were used to navigate, they set up men around the globe to guide in the right direction so you don't get lost. The first ever working GPS was up and operating in 1978. Which was a upgrade for the hand drawn GPS from the 20th century.
