"Back Stabbers" by O'Jays
The song "Back Stabbers" by O'Jays is about people who back stabbed their so called "friends". This song relates to the play, Julius Caesar, because Brutus, Julius Caesar' best friend stabbed him in the back. By this I mean he betrayed his best friend. Another way this song connects to this act is by stating "What they do / They smile in your face/
All the time they want to take your place." This quote reflects Brutus's action towards Caesar as well as all of the conspirators.
"Celebration" by Kool and The Gang
The song "Celebration" by Kool and The Gang is about people celebrating good times such as success. This song relates to the play, Julius Caesar in Act 1 because in the beginning of the play the people are celebrating Caesar's victory and a Roman feast. By this I mean Julius Caesar's success in battle is what people were celebrating. Another way this song connects to this act is because it says, "There's a party goin' on right here / A celebration to last throughout the years." This quote represents whats happening in act 1 which is celebrating Caesar's victory.
"Nightmares" by Ed Sheeran
The song "Nightmares" aby Ed Sheeran is about the nightmares he had about when he was younger. This song relates to the play, Julius Caesar, because Calphurnia had a nightmare about Caesar bleeding to death. By this I mean it relates to the play because they both had a nightmare. Another way this song connects to this act is by stating, "I feel my nightmares watching me." This quote reflects Calphurnia concerns about her husband.
"Lost" by Katy Perry
The song "Lost" by Katy Perry is about a girl who feels like she's been lost and wanting to go home. This song relates to the play, Julius Caesar, because Brutus lost his wife while he was in the middle of a war. By this I mean Brutus felt like he lost apart of himself and needed to go home but couldn't. Another way this song connects to this act is by stating "So sick of this town pulling me down/My mother says I should come back home but/Can't find the way cause the way is gone." This quote reflects Brutus's feelings of losing his wife and being pulled away from her by his part in the mission to kill Caesar.
"Changes" by Tupac
The song "Changes" by Tupac is about things changing in life. This song relates to the play, Julius Caesar, because Octavius and Antony became the rulers after Caesar's death. By this I mean things changed in the government after Caesar died. Another way this song connects to this act is by stating "But things change... and that's the way it is." This quote reflects Octavius and Antony on how things change.
