Occured b/c of debate between France & Great Britain
Started in Europe when George Washington attacked small part of French Army.
Officially began in 1754 when England declared war on France
Britain sent 20, 000+ soldiers to destroy France's empire
Top priority for France
The countries involved were Europe, North America, Central America, the West African coast, India, and the Philippines
France was tied in a line with Spain, so they were equally affected
When was the war?
The war occurred because Great Britain wanted to take over their competition, France and Spain
France had to protect its colonies because they produced sugarcane, which was very valuable
Who was part of the Seven Years' War?
Took place in Europe
Mainly involved France and Great Britain
Many other countries were involved
Started 2 years earlier, in 1754, in America's Ohio Valley
1756 was the first official year of fighting, the British were suffering many defeats by the French
The war broke out and led to the fall of New France
New France did well until 1757, when British troops won several victories
After many fights,
a conclusion was made
The two sides would sign a treaty to end the war
The treaty of Hubertusburg was signed in Paris, on February 1763
