Tuberculosis Interesting Facts about Chopin: In the autumn of 1831, Chopin Poland for Paris. Although he never returned to Poland, he was at times extremely homesick. His urge to return home was obvious because many of his pieces include aspects of Polish Folk music. The name given to Chopin's Op. 35 was the funeral march: which is often used as a representation of grief. Children: Chopin had 14 children. Six girls and eight boys. Eight of the children were adopted and one was found in a dumpster. Every kid had a name that started with a different letter of the alphabet. He was a composer from the Romantic period. Education He was tutored at home until he was thirteen.

Enrolled in the Warsaw Lyceum in 1823.

Chopin officially began studying music theory, figured bass, and composition with Elsner.
